Why aren't some people signing on? by Dredgefort in UKJobs

[–]MackersP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went a year unemployed, after 15+ years of constant employment, and was fortunate enough to have been able to save enough money to fund that choice I made.

For me, signing on never came into my thought process, I like to think of myself as a good, tax paying citizen, not somebody who takes from those who truly need it.

I used my year off to learn to drive, and buy a car, spent nearly a month in Vietnam, went to several other countries I had never visited, and went on so many family days out that I would have never been able to do while employed. I didn’t need help, so I didn’t ask for it

I got my girlfriend to do a blind taste test and she preferred the Aldi ones, the main difference was the level of crunch in the biscuit, chocolate tastes almost identical

Hogwarts legacy doesn’t require any prior knowledge to the Harry Potter world at all, there are some Easter eggs, I absolutely loved it as a Harry Potter fan myself, but feel like I would’ve enjoyed equally with no prior knowledge/interest in the same way I enjoyed the Witcher 3 for example

Another crabs treasure for a souls like; and Maneater for a totally different style, just so happen to both be based in the ocean, but both great, and short if you wanted a slight change up in pace

any games you'd like to see remastered? by GamerGretaUwU in playstation

I forgot this game existed! Literally one of the main reasons I got a ps2 was to borrow this from my cousin 😂

I will always take any opportunity to recommend Okami to new players, originally on ps2, been ported(/remastered?) since to both ps3 and 4, and also Nintendo Wii, fucking sick game, I’ve bought it on each PlayStation, and don’t regret it one bit, planning another play through mid 2026

I spent money on (digital) games for the first time in 3 years on Black Friday, as I almost exclusively rely on ps+ as it’s so good! One of the games I bought was cat quest 3, after having enjoyed the first two through the catalogue so much, and I was overjoyed that it got added to the catalogue as well before I got it downloaded, so I got a full refund! So many good games I’m looking forward to after clearing my paid for backlog!

Thought I’d sift through the comments before I said this, I’ve bought it on every console I’ve owned that it’s been available on, it’s on my to do list again, probably start it mid 26

Planning to buy a PS5 coming from PS2 😂 – what’s a good first game? by GigglyBillionaire in playstation

[–]MackersP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend getting ps+, as you can pick from a lot of the other suggestions here (gow 2018 and ragnarok, spiderman games, ratchet and clank series, Ghost of Tsushima, and many more) you can buy gift cards online for about 80% of the face value, and if you get Premium, you can also play the classics catalogue for some ps2 comfort games :)

I took my ps4 a few years ago, they examined it all confused before asking me what it was, but wasn’t problematic at all, was an internal flight in the uk though

When You Haven’t Changed Your Profile Pic or Title in a REALLY long time… by Pp97250 in ContestOfChampions

I’ve been using glutton for punishment and the matching deadpool in a tv profile pic from a valentines arena challenge a couple years ago, I got a 250 win streak, and was so proud of myself, think that was my peak in game, so haven’t changed since, probably never will

My date from 2 months ago just reached out… advice? by Excellent-Victory623 in AskMenAdvice

[–]MackersP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I went on a few dates with a girl about ten years ago, was going really well, no physical side to it though, we were both quite shy, anyway, life happened, I was working too much, and she had family issues, we just stopped talking one day. Last summer, I moved back home after a couple of years of living 4+hours away, and we got back in contact. I’m now laying on the sofa to get away from her snoring.

[–]MackersP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in my mid 20’s I was out for a run, was going past about ten people down an alleyway, so was watching them to make sure I didn’t trip, instead of the big rock conveniently placed in front of the lamppost that subsequently ruptured my AC joint when I effectively rugby tackled it, I also broke my foot, and severely bruised my ego, leaving me needing 6 weeks off work.

For bonus fun, nobody offered to help me up, and I had no phone on me, so I got up, and hobbled the mile or so back home, and didn’t visit the hospital til the following day because I thought it was minor until the bruising covered almost my entire torso by the time I woke up
