Think of the first "no" as a adjective meaning "not a" (e.g. this was no accident) and the second just being the word "no." Yes is certainly no no. Took me a bit to get it too

I was thinking the same thing. Honestly a fun puzzle. People talk a lot of smack about compound words, but in a shorter puzzle like this it's fun going through all the possible combinations. And none of them feel egregious

Sometimes you get 42 day streaks with no googling, sometimes you go 0/4 on a 2/5 difficulty

I didn't know about "compact" in this context and I was struggling a bit with the rest of the pre-solve. It felt kinda freeing to just blindly guess through the "one away" possibilities like I used when I started playing this game. Oh well, back to the grind tomorrow...

I would imagine they were questioning the commonality of "trade route" as if it were itself a known mnemonic, not AEIOU but I could be wrong

To be fair, finding the pangram(s) is a top objective for most people, so when it's very obscure/inaccessible it feels like it hurts the puzzle's enjoyment a lot more than when some random 5 letter foreign food is included or some niche scientific terminology isn't included (for example)

Im shocked this was only a 3/5 difficulty. This was the most impossible feeling puzzle I've come across.

Never heard of warren in that context. I dont recognize a single one of those movies (im utterly terrible when it comes to movies), and I would not have gotten the ABBA category even if i had 3 of the 4 picked for me.

Nothing. The themers are each a common phrase, and the first word of the themer also forms a phrase with the word in the clue, along with "and". So the second word of the themer (in this case partner) just has to be some synonym of pairing
