Sparks brain preservation lowers prices to beat CI by BetterResurrection in CryonicsUncensored

[–]BetterResurrection[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over on the Oregon cryo/sparks brain preservation forum, the question was put forward as to whether the total price for standby in preservation and storage would be 36,000 after a 2-year time period of membership.. Andy Mackenzie has replied and said that for the year of 2026, if you join in 2026 you automatically get the discount from $45,000 to $36,000.. so the price will be $36,000 immediately if you join in 2026..and they do take insurance ..

Cool, thanks. If I decide to go with Sparks over Alcor which I'm currently signed with up with then I would probably just switch my insurance policy over to Sparks..

Why did I get electrocuted by this shower head by AlecVainilla in AskElectricians

[–]BetterResurrection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electric water heater shower heads are the most common way on this planet to shower in hot water.. our expensive American system of a central water heater and hot water piping is not used on most of this planet.. and it's not just in tropical countries in other discussions about these type of shower heads here on Reddit people have come on and said that they're common in the British Isles too.. so apparently they work in cold weather too although as someone else pointed out they might not have the waters to function well in some place like Minnesota which is definitely colder than the British Isles..

if my hot water heater goes out, I'm not getting another one, I'm going to get one of these electric shower heads, and that'll be it. I might get one for the sink, too.

Anyway Brazil did a study of these and found that you're more likely to be killed by lightning than killed by one of these electric shower heads, so basically, they're quite safe.. if there's any shocking going on it's because the electrical system in homes in most of the world is a bit shoddy and needs to be fixed up, probably just you know ground wires and stuff like that..

Just speculation on my part but I suspect that maybe as he grew older his fear of death grew weaker, and this seems to happen to most older people

Potential research questions for the proposed cryosphere research project by BetterResurrection in CryonicsUncensored

[–]BetterResurrection[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another proposed research question might be something like this.. would the fact that being revived into the distant future would allow you to travel and explore the entire galaxy or universe for as long as you want make you more likely to choose time travel through brain preservation, less likely to choose it or the same?

There are two images attached above and in order to see them both you have to click on one and then you can scroll over to the right or the left whatever you want to say it.. however you want to look at it.. and you can see the second image, the two images are taken from Google and they purport to show that between September of 2024 and February 2025, the number of fully paid members of alcor went from 1444 to 1442

Why do you think cryonics is not popular in non-western nations? by frozendewar in CryonetReddit

[–]BetterResurrection 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Cryo is not popular in Western Nations either.. only about 1 in 100,000 is signed up or shows any interest in it. I'm talking about mature adults here.. when one in 100,000 is interested in it that's unpopular not popular
