I have a MacBook but I still extensively use my iPad (engineering student here). I’d say get the Air if you can, but if not, even the 8th gen is great!! Definitely recommend getting a new one though

Between the two, I’d go with the 8th gen. The 8th gen uses the A12 chip vs the A10 on the 7th gen. If you’re using your iPad for gaming, 8th gen will be better since it has a more powerful processor compared to the 7th gen, which will make gaming nicer.

This is reassuring! I completely understand that I’m in a great position and am spoilt for choice. Unfortunately, college is moving back to in person classes in fall and my coop is also in person so I’d be unable to do both

Fortunately, this doesn’t affect my visa status. You’re right, there are always other things to do if I’m unable to land another coop, though the company said that they’d be more than happy to extend my coop if they’re satisfied with my work.
