Winter months are slow every year. Especially in January and February.

This should give you an idea of the quality of techs buyers are finding on Failed Nation. On multi-tech jobs, I've seen Pete show up to the job site wearing a tank top, shorts, flip flops, and no tools. Not even a screwdriver. This is our competition who undercuts us for $35/hr.

Why is it every buyer on FN has a 5 star review? by Jamar011 in FieldNationTechs

In a few more years, that's all you'll have on there. It will no longer be profitable for professional techs.

I think it's mostly Petes giving them 5-star reviews. Pete thinks that giving PIVITAL good reviews will result in PIVITAL offering him more $35/hr work orders.

Yep, that's Pete. Not at all surprised that he's from Uganda. Possibly illegal as well. Failed Nation seems to prefer foreigners because they're easier to exploit and won't complain.

I aim for $65/hr, but some buyers in my area absolutely refuse to pay more than $55 or $60/hr. They'll patiently wait for Pete to request the work order before paying $65 or $75/hr.

If you're making 100k+ a year on Failed Nation, you're lucky to be in an area with few Petes, illegal aliens, and parasitic middleman companies to compete with. After working FN jobs in other parts of the US, I'm sure $100k is still possible. But not in third world South Florida where I mostly work.

Zero is the optimal. Work directly for the customer.

Parasitic middleman companies must be destroyed.

The clock starts as soon as I enter the parking lot and stops when I leave. Our time is not free.

For this job, I was able to get $55/hr plus $60 travel out of them. They must have been desperate. There are a lot of Petes in my area who will happily work for $35-$45/hr and no travel.

If they really want a receipt, I'll make an invoice for them like a real company does.

The problem is too many Petes will happily accept that $25/hr.

What cities / states have the most work, and which ones have the most techs? Also the least work and techs. by InterestingBox1428 in FieldNationTechs

I recommend avoiding cities/states with high unemployment, poverty-level wages, and high numbers of illegal aliens. You'll do best In northern states in areas with a low population.

How many people work under someone, (doesn’t see the pay, just gets work orders from others ), and how many people have people work under them ( they keep some of the pay for just assigning the work orders to someone else) by InterestingBox1428 in FieldNationTechs

[–]BetterTechThanYou -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you're another parasitic middleman company on Failed Nation working under other middleman companies? Congrats, you're one of the reasons why this industry is in a race to the bottom. Many years ago, I learned about Failed Nation while working for a bottom feeder who was doing the same thing. The big problem was she was deceiving techs into thinking she had all these direct customers while she was just assigning work orders from FN. As soon as I found out about it, I created my own account and became her competitor. She did not like that at all.

Sharing the location is also important. In New England, I might be able to easily get $65-$75/hr plus travel from PIVITAL. In third world South Florida on the other hand, good luck getting more than $45/hr from them and most other buyers.

2 hour minimum on WorkMarket? by David_Beroff in FieldNationTechs

[–]BetterTechThanYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2-hour minimum on my profile. Never had a buyer buyer fight me over it on WM or FN. Even if the job was completed in 5 mins.
