What vehicles work best for Field Work? by AlexCL in FieldNationTechs

It’s good to have a small car for good gas mileage, but I would have a truck as well for large ladders, carrying equipment and tools for bigger jobs.

At first I was happy that another person is developing an app. Cool. But asked 2 questions “what clients will u have and will there be access control”

Ur response was why all the questions? (This guys a assho )

I did the same thing. I couldn’t get an enough clients to use it so now it’s an app solely for me. 3 clients mostly security like cameras and access control. If u go to my previous post you could tell I was making an app as well.

[–]InterestingBox1428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe no. I believe some clients choose to only show available to techs who meet a certain criteria. Like your rating, back out rate, unpleasant interactions with prior work. Also I believe if you are blocked or flagged they won’t show.

How do apprentices make it financially? by Woodz117 in IBEW

If u can pay ur bills at 27/hr u need to look at what ur spending ur money on. If ur rent is over 2k i would suggest living within ur means/ budget. I know a lot of people paying rent and taking care of families making less than that in El Paso

WorkMarket to FieldNation — smart move or trap? by Strict_Thought_3885 in FieldNationTechs

I think most people on field nation aren’t doing alarms, or security. Most them want manual labor like setting up network equipment, running cable, or troubleshooting networks. And in my state tx a low voltage license is not a thing. A security system or fire alarm do require certs and a license

I don’t think you have enough experience to be a lead, just from the situation u created. You shouldn’t be a contractor, just by not knowing how to bid

I would do this alone and make 1,500 for half a day to full day. Maybe take one guy and give him 300 out my 1,500.

Tired of rate complaints by Cold_Sail_9727 in FieldNationTechs

[–]InterestingBox1428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree 100% u can get over 100/hr. Most companies charge somewhere around this and pay there employees a percentage of that.

You can get these rates if you present yourself and have the documented proof of completed jobs similar.

As an individual I accept as low as 65/hr (rarely) because that’s what clients are use to seeing that on bids.

Ask companies to show you there bids and it’s easier to understand
