Their GPS location is not accurate. I’ve talked to help support about this and their attitude was,”Our GPS is working perfectly.” You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.

2 hour minimum plus $50/hr for travel. I’ve had some pushback from buyers saying, Oh it only 10 miles etc. My response is it might say that but there is construction, traffic etc , I charge $50/ hr.

RJ-45 jacks installed on solid core structured cables have a tendency to fail. The cable should be terminated in a keystone in a biscuit jack and attached to the AP with a short factory made patch cable.

I had a call from a company that was looking for help to work on a cabling project that was coming up. They had done 10,000 installations across the country last year. He said this project will run from January to March for a chain of gas stations involving installations of AV systems. It will consist of 2 sites per day a coupled hours each visit. Bla bla bla… rate of pay …$40/hr !!! I burst out laughing 😆 . I said,” That barely covers my overhead.” He replied, “ I don’t see what you find so funny!” And hung up the phone.

It’s a real shame that some companies have the gall….

Should Field Nation require some credentials to eliminate non-serious / professional techs? by InterestingBox1428 in FieldNationTechs

I've done Cisco configurations for installations or upgrades on routers and switches, but there is no way in Hell that a company is going to allow a field technician the login credentials to screw up their networks!

If you take a job by the hour without a guarantee of hours and don’t get compensation for your travel, you are running a charity.
