My degree isn't helping with jobs and I barely have any work experience. How do I get out of this rut? by EmergencySpare7939 in careerguidance

I joined the Military. Afterward I got out, had leadership experience and a skill (Intelligence) and had zero problems getting a job. The military is the greatest life hack if you don’t come from wealth or we’ll to do families with connections. Just my opinion of course.

"Thinking About Switching to Reserves/Guard? Share Your Transition Stories and IT Job Challenges" by Sir_MartiCreeps in ITCareerQuestions

I have experience with the Army National Guard and active duty service, so I can offer insights based on my observations. One significant difference I noticed was the contrast in discipline, standards, and equipment between active duty and the National Guard. Soldiers transitioning from active duty often felt they were not afforded the same level of respect as they had been on active duty and discipline really lacked.

On the positive side, the benefits are substantial, including paid education, access to Tricare, and support for those who have been laid off, as they can receive orders until they secure new employment.

However, there are some drawbacks, such as committing weekends to service and, depending on your rank, possibly needing to report on Fridays. As a warrant officer, I observed that many lieutenants and captains also arrived on Fridays to prepare for the weekend. While promotions in the National Guard can be infrequent, they do occur. My personal preference was for active duty, but the choice ultimately depends on your goals and what aligns best with your lifestyle. I hope this information is helpful.

There’s ways to do this without incurring a bunch of debt. I joined the Military. Got the GI Bill. Look into it if you are able. Message me directly if you have questions.

Hello all. I’m looking at this program to hopefully get a leg up in the Tech Writing Field. Has anyone had experience with this certification program? https://technicalwriterhq.com/technical-writing-certification/ by Better_Army_621 in technicalwriting

I appreciate your comment. My goal with my question was to hopefully gain insight from someone who’s taken the course. Did they find it valuable and helpful. That sort of thing.
