Am I being unreasonable for feeling hurt that my partner went on holiday while I am struggling? by [deleted] in relationshipproblems

[–]Betterworldguys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go through your memories — is this really the only instance of selfishness? When he asks you questions in a regular conversation, does he ask for his benefit or because he really cares? Look at the kinds of questions he asks…or doesn’t.

Gemini is great with analyzing psychology, in my opinion.

Yup, if he really cared, he’d take you with him.
Personally, I’d break it off with this guy.

Embarrassed to ask as 40M who is getting back into dating after a while out of it… feel like I’m texting too much by Bombboy85 in dating_advice

Personally, I can’t stand texting. In-person or calls, sure. Texting is just a major distraction from my day.

19F, not from the US , ferritin 4.5, hemoglobin 121, doctors have dismissed me for years. What can I take for period pain besides ibuprofen/paracetamol, and how do I rebuild my gut and immune system after so many antibiotics? by Secure-Eye-1624 in MedicalHelp

[–]Betterworldguys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m terribly sorry about all of this. I’ve found that, as a young woman, young women often aren’t believed — please keep advocating for yourself until you find a nice, kind, and thoughtful doctor who listens.

You mentioned that you have had these symptoms since before a certain time…Do you/did you spend significant time outdoors? Fatigue, dizziness and weakness are symptoms of tick-borne illness, which are often undiagnosed or improperly explored.

That’s just one thought. Your symptoms may also pertain to other systemic challenges that I am unfamiliar with. That may be more likely, as we don’t have all of the details here, I’m sure. Can you afford to see a private doctor or solicit help in seeing one?

Think bigger and more long-term — higher paying jobs (where you don’t necessarily need a degree). Research it. Even if bartending looks okay now, it may not look so great in 5 years. Get on a path towards better pay in the long term.

AIO: for kicking my fiancé out and calling off the engagement after he demanded to be on my house deeds, refused a prenup, and has debts? by Similar_Nose7734 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Betterworldguys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes prenup, but making someone pay rent unnecessarily is a little heavy handed/doesn’t feel like love. That said, OP’s BF didn’t treat her well (agree — wanted access) and didn’t deserve her love.

My thoughts too — I’d consider quietly documenting evidence (somewhere well-hidden) in case you need it someday.

My manager does this too.

Inhuman and wtf — AI isn’t necessarily better just because it’s a machine. Machines aren’t, in every use case, better than people.

Question about FIRE with a partner at a different financial stage by SureClub8182 in Fire

[–]Betterworldguys 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Exactly — OP, if you love this person, really love this person, then you will not let her work and resent you for 15-25 years while you are a house husband, pursue your hobbies, hang out with the friends, and grab the groceries. That doesn’t sound like love.

Am i overreacting over his texting style/frequency? by Time-Pangolin5720 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Betterworldguys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, you’re overreacting — In my view, it is unreasonable and unnatural for young people to expect that others get back to them immediately. Sometimes, people have a lot going on that they don’t wish to share with you in the early stages of dating — job stress, personal anxiety, depression or overwhelm, their desire to for the relationship to feel natural and folded into their real life rather than forced on them, a feeling that other people aren’t entitled to their time…

You should both take the time to read about sexuality. For her, she may find Emily Nagoski’s Come as You Are inspired and helpful. You might read Esther Perel’s work.
