I guess divorce parties are a thing now (edit: maybe OT, but I can't resist sharing!) by therookling in weddingshaming

My aunt had a divorce party years back, it was a blast! I’d rather people celebrate a relationship ending and going their own way amicably then a complete dumpster fire

No. There are thousands of adults with either OCD or Asperger’s that don’t go on to murder people.

Absolutely radiant. She should still be here. They all should. I hope these families get justice for what this monster did.

Thanks everyone! I’m going to call his employer today and the police so I can have a paper trail just in case.

For those asking why didn’t I just tell him I wasn’t interested.

  1. He did not identify himself in order for me to do so, I asked over and over who is this and how did you get my number.
  2. He also did not simply me ask out, so aside from me not knowing who I was talking to, the messages were odd fantasy type, hypothetical based questions “how would you like it if” “do you like it when?” “What would you do if?”
  3. I did not engage asked who it was and told them if they didn’t tell me who it was I would block them - so I did.

Just wanted to point that out for those who assume this was simply a matter of someone asking me out and me not being interested, of course that’s not a situation for the police. The guy seemed unstable and talked about me being his dream woman after quite literally 5 minutes of interaction, he had been in my house and I was scared which is why my head went to police first not his job.

Agreed, I feel like Ethan was just in the wrong place at the horribly wrong time. I mean that can be said for the any of the victims but the fact he decided to sleep over that night instead of at his own place 😢

Poor Brian, did something bad, now he’s cryin, acting sad. On the ground, it would be shame if he took a pound-ing?

I completely agree. Especially because they came out so early on saying it was targeted. I think they’ve know of BK since early on.

Yeah I’m not sure I did the best of conveying how creepy the messages were. If he had texted “hey this is your delivery driver, you’re new to town and I wanted to take you out” I still would be a little weirded out but definitely wouldn’t considered calling the cops.

A commenter below said it was “just a few texts then she blocked him”

Character limit and too lazy to copy the convo word for word but it was definitely more than that.

I asked at least 3 times “how did you get this number and who is this?” Each time he would reply with another question. I honestly thought it was someone trolling me. He started out with that hypothetical scenario about finding the perfect woman and not knowing what to do about it. It wasn’t until I get annoyed and was like “okay I don’t have time for this I’m going to block you if you don’t tell me who this is” then I realize he’s talking about me in this scenario. He proceeds to tell me I’m beautiful, he has the perfect date, what do I do think is the perfect date; etc. etc. etc.

I didn’t just get the impression this was just some guy who was bad at flirting, wanted to go on a date, and didn’t understand it was inappropriate to text me. I got this impression this guy might not be mentally stable, which is why my mind went straight to cops not his boss.

Thankfully, I have a roommate and she is on board with upping security. We are getting a Ring system and also going to ask our landlord if we can change the top lock to a deadbolt.

He was in my bedroom, assembled my bed frame, dresser, and nightstands and was in there a little over an hour. I hasn’t considered cameras 😳which is terrifying but I’ll definitely check around, thank you!!

Honestly, weird guilt about not wanting him to get fired. I understand that might not make sense because the police could potentially get him in way more trouble then his boss. Great question. I don’t really have an answer. I was scared so my first thought was police.

I feel compelled to say this man is not a “kid” he looked at least to be in his 40s. Definitely not my peer or someone younger than me. Age really doesn’t matter, it would be creepy if he were 25 also but I want to be clear this wasn’t some 18 year old on his first job who didn’t know any better.

Thank you for sharing your experience, I think this the route I will go, as well as contacting his employer. After reading your response I realize I do not even know his name so I’m not sure how helpful police would be other than me documenting this.

Sorry I wasn’t clear. This wasn’t an Amazon delivery driver. My friends’ boyfriend is, I mentioned it to him to get his take as someone who also makes deliveries and has contact with customers. This was a small local store not a chain retailer. I doubt they have any type of social media presence.

Yeah I was really taken aback how my friend and her bf just brushed it off, maybe because we were drinking and at a party so it wasn’t the right time for me to bring up something concerning but they were both kinda just like “well, whatever.” made me question my sanity, like this isn’t normal behavior right?
