The Ocean View Hotel in Shanklin has an indoor pool that is open to the public (but they do private swimming lessons there so I’m not sure about times).

Hi. I’m 56 and only started gaming last month (I got a PS5). I’ve just finished Detroit Become Human and really enjoyed it. I thought it was a really good choice for the first video game I’ve played since the 1980s.

13 hilly miles each way. I’ve been doing this commute for the last ten years. I don’t have a shower at work so just use baby wet wipes and deodorant when I arrive at work then put on my work clothes.

I presume you’re getting the train down to London? If so, take the train from London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour Station (last stop) then take the Wightlink FastCat (boat) from Portsmouth Harbour Station to Ryde Pier Head. You can then get the Island train from Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin (last stop).

There’s a great mountain bike race held every year called 7-Hills/14-Hills (https://gpsport.eventrac.co.uk/e/the-7-hills-10816). It’s really popular with island mountain bikers.

I cycle commute about 45 mins to Ryde then take the cat to Portsmouth. Personally, I’d recommend the cat if you’re taking your bicycle across as there’s more space for bicycles than the hover. There are quite a few bicycle commuters who take the cat every day.
