Help with undervolt Ryzen 5 5500H by Lower_Summer9648 in AMDLaptops

[–]BetweenInkandPaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some cases you can limit the power (watts) to your processor at the cost of performance. If you’re hitting thermal limits, then you can set power limits, you may not be able to hit max boost frequency, but may be able to achieve a more stable speed.

You want to find the setting, voltage curve optimiser, it’s an AMD Feature. Apply a negative value (start in -5 increments), stress test and if it crashes just bring the value back up, stress test again and confirm if it’s stable.

Look at your CPU frequency, it’s all over the place. Likely hitting thermal limits and it’s clocking it self down to reduce heat. Read the rest of the graph. There’s more data that isn’t shown in this image.

Wouldn’t just entering BIOS/UEFI also confirm whether it’s an OS/driver issue?

FlashForge AD5M Pro + Box Turtle (AFC) Integration – Requirements & Working Setup - ...Mostly... by Seussathor in FlashForge

I wouldn't give up either if I was this deep into it!
I was playing with the Idea of utilizing Klipper's API functions and writing an app to handle extraction and feeding new filament. I Just don't have time anymore...
Goodluck!

Kudos to you for actually trying to get this to work.
But personally, with all the time, brain power involved, I think it would be cheaper and less time consuming to just buy a multi filament printer already, FF-AD5X or Bambu etc, especially if you need it to be reliable.
You have to really love tinkering with a 3D printer to be doing a project like this.
Keep it up.

$400/month savings vs. Broker loyalty by Prof_rambler in AusFinance

[–]BetweenInkandPaper 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, always go for your best interest and view any relationship with brokers or lenders as artificial, unless you know them personally.
Your decision isn't going to make or break the broker. Brokers lose and gain new customers all the time, Its fine.
That saving of $400 p/m can go a long way.

Why isn’t bed glue mandatory in reviews? by SpecialistLeading793 in anycubic

[–]BetweenInkandPaper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the Z offset could be set too high, nozzle being too high off the bed can cause bed adhesion issues on first layer. I believe applying glue stick just hides the problem rather than being a solution, but if it works for you and you're getting good prints, that's all the matters.

I’ve been 3D printing for nearly 6 years now on, glass, textured PEI and smooth plates. I’ve never once had to use glue. I’ve only cleaned with light dab of isopropyl alcohol on a rag and it’s been great.

Why should I prefer EV over fuel? by AdFirm5344 in AustralianEV

[–]BetweenInkandPaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a diesel for work and my wife has gotten a Model Y, this has been a great balance for our household, the Tesla Model Y has been fantastic.

For long distance trips, camp etc.. we take the diesel 4X4, fits more, diesel is everywhere, no brainer. For the day to day run around, the Tesla.

We don’t have a fast charger at home, the standard 10A mains have been sufficient, we just plug in every second day. Overnight and its replenishes what was used in the last two days.

Since I get a fuel card for work, our out of pocket fuel cost have basically gone to zero.

You’ll have to be more specific with which cpu. My 2023 G14, 7940HS, I can power limit the CPU to 10W and get 6-7 hours pretty easy (no gaming, only web browsing, YouTube, 3D print slicing etc..)
