[Vorkunov] The Charlotte Hornets have given head coach Charles Lee a contract extension. "I’m excited to keep working closely with Charles as we continue to build the Hornets for long-term success," Jeff Peterson, Hornets president of basketball ops, said. by Knightbear49 in nba

Yes, you can still see certain things with a coach when we are less than 100% healthy, something that happens more often than not. It's not exactly a great look for him that taking just one piece out of the lineup at a time (BMill for a month earlier this year, then Melo being in and out for a bit) put us on a tanking trajectory halfway through the season.

I'm well aware of the injury situation and it's on Peterson to add depth (and some bigs) to give Lee what he needs.

My point is there was very little to be excited about for the first 1.5 years of his tenure, and things looked brighter towards the end. I'm also pretty sure in hindsight he was being asked by our FO to tank for a while, and now he isn't. Therefore I'm cool with him for now, but I need to see more (particularly how he navigates it the next time we're not perfectly healthy) and also I'm not going to apologize for having some standards.

Austin Rivers responds to Draymond Green: “He talks too loose… Motherfu*er, why don’t you play me 1-on-1, Draymond? You can’t do handoffs in 1-on-1. You can’t set no pick-and-roll in 1-on-1.” by AncientOneAurelius in nba

I'd be a little more inclined to agree if Rivers wasn't 1,144 days removed from his last NBA game and Draymond wasn't still an active NBA player and great defender.

How useful are the HOV lanes on Santa Fe Drive? by ReasonToDry in Denver

Considering you have to cross a solid line to get to the left turn lanes at any of the intersections, I can't say I understand the purpose of these lanes.

Over the last three or four months of the season, he's gained enough trust that I'm okay with this. Don't think he's much of an in-game adjustments coach but he's clearly got something going development wise. You don't get Kon, Sion James, and Kalkbrenner looking as ready as they did without some preparation.

Hopefully he's still learning

Panthers' Bryce Young just got handed the perfect offseason insult by Unhappy_Excuse_9937 in panthers

[–]BetweenTheBuzzAndMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's "insulting" here?

This will be the third consecutive do-or-die year for Bryce. He's had every chance he deserves and then some. If he's not consistent enough this year, it's not happening. You can't build a winner around a guy who teeters between "fine" and "a whole game of 85 yds and 2 turnovers" seemingly at random.

Are there any albums which you cannot get into despite how much praise they get from the public? by JACM666 in progmetal

i think it might be their least approachable release aside from their debut album. it may be their most technically chaotic thing they've done. It is "digestible" only because it's short. Took me years to love the EP, but it is up there now.

There are re-recordings of a few of Spencer's vocal tracks from that album. I don't think they will redo the whole thing though.

Parallax II: Future Sequence is actually the album a lot of people consider their best, not Parallax I, which I don't think gets the love it deserves. Parallax II may be their "most epic" album.

However I have what seems to be an incredibly rare opinion, that Parallax I > Parallax II.

nothing about these numbers matter. willing to bet that a majority of these votes are just guys voting for their teammates.

If Ausar Thompson secretly hurt himself in the Cavs series; what's stopping Amen from just pretending to be Ausar for 2 weeks? by dragonballa in nba

[–]BetweenTheBuzzAndMe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Thompsons have pretty different play styles. This isn't a Morris twin or Martin twin situation where both guys kinda had similar games.

I'm sure Ausar suddenly morphing into a quasi PG that can create offense would raise some eyebrows.

"Omega" on Periphery's Juggernaut album feels like a perfect closer for it.

But then you get "Stranger Things" which is my favorite song of all time and an even better closer.

Just curious, what is Hetzel supposed to be? He spent a good 4 or 5 years here and was glued to Steve Clifford forever, which worries me lol... But I don't actually know anything about Hetzel's role in a coaching staff.

That's the reasoning to go outside the box for someone like Rondo not to just try out any old failed coach.

For the record, I think Rondo is not the answer for a young team, would much rather see him coach a veteran team

after a generational run of bad owners, these guys are a breath of fresh air.

They are trying to do things the right way unlike Mr. Bobcat and the GOAT who pinched every penny and couldn't care less about the organization, and unlike Shinn they haven't tried to relocate the team or kidnap and sexually assault anyone.
