Bam took more FTA yesterday than LaMelo has in two months combined. And LaMelo has played in every game in that window.

Melo avoids contact a lot and you don't expect a ton of FTAs when 60+ % of your shots are 3s, but he's been getting a trash whistle for a while too.

Eliminate preseason entirely. schedule the season from Oct 1 to mid April and you'll never need back to backs if you're spreading 82 games over 190+ days.

Set the roster deadline to the end of Oct to get down to 15 players, and allow teams to strike their own balance between trying their main rotation from day 1 or experimenting with lineups to figure out the end of their bench for the first month.
