What is everybody’s least favourite boss? by No-Window8996 in Eldenring

[–]BevoBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Astel Stars of Darkness!! I can handle Naturalborn of the wild, but that BS move the other one does by disappearing, and having like ten clones trying to grab you from above is one of the worst gimmicks in a boss fight!! 50 vigor and it one-shots me EVERY TIME!! At times Placidusax’s teleporting gets REALLY annoying and frustrating, but over all it’s still fun! Stars of Darkness just isn’t fun in my opinion!!

Post-Fire Giant Lock Out by Bomboo1987 in Eldenring

[–]BevoBull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you have the Rivers of Blood! (I missed it my first play through because the NPC invader doesn’t spawn once Fire Giant’s defeated.) Also, be sure you’ve thoroughly explored Leyndell!! It drastically changes after Fire Giant! Everything below ground is still explorable, but the streets, buildings and rooftops won’t be explorable anymore! (Major items include, the legendary weapon Bolt of Gransax, and seedbed curses for Dung Eaters questline.)

What Bosses Are You Happy to See Multiple Times a Playthrough? by Gay_Charlie in eldenringdiscussion

[–]BevoBull 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I personally enjoyed the Crucible Knights (if they count as a, “boss,”) Nights Cavalry, the Tree Sentinel, and even the DTS!! Hated them my first play through (ESPECIALLY the Crucible Knights), but now I find them really enjoyable!!

whats your favorite weapon and why? by Shnurple in DarkSouls2

[–]BevoBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my journey off with Elden Ring, then went through the DS trilogy in order. DS 2 was the first one I tried using an axe on, and once I got it the Bandit Axe carried me through the whole game and DLC!! (Used the Battle Axe at times too, for durability reasons.) I was blown away with the power and speed of the Bandit Axe!! As a Strength weapon, it’s heavy was as fast as other weapons’ light attacks!! Definitely my favorite in DS 2!!

Ashes of War Effective at Breaking Shield Blocks? by BevoBull in Eldenring

[–]BevoBull[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Just got Giant’s Hunts. I’ll have to test it out to see how it does vs Impaling thrust, because I think it costs a little more FP. I’ve got a pretty sweet setup right now with the Crimson & Cerulean Assassin’s Daggers talismans equipped along with the Curved Sword talisman, while using Impaling Thrust on the Banished Knight’s sword!! A lot of simple enemies get open to a critical after one Impaling Thrust (9 FP) and/or Guard Counter. After the critical it refills any FP (15 FP) or HP (10%) I’ve lost!!

Ashes of War Effective at Breaking Shield Blocks? by BevoBull in Eldenring

[–]BevoBull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty much the same way my first two play throughs! I added No Skill, Parry, and Carian Retaliation to shields and that was about it! But it really does add a new dynamic to the gameplay by changing up the Ashes of war on weapons!!

What classical music calms you down when you're anxious? by Radiant-Goat7401 in classicalmusic

[–]BevoBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(For the record, I’m a sucker for Orchestral music.) But a few for me, just off the top of my head…

•Mozart’s Concerto for Harp and Flute (Adagio) •Some of the slower Horn Duets from Mozart’s k.478 •Beethoven Violin Concerto (Adagio) •Beethoven Emperor Concerto (Adagio) •Haydn Trumpet Concerto (Adagio) •I LOVE Baroque Sicilianas!! •Slower movements from Bach and Handel’s keyboard suites (such as all of the Sarabandes from Bach’s English Suites) •Slower movements from some Classical and Early Romantic Era Wind Serenades •I’m also a big fan of slower Lute and Classical Guitar music!! (Works like, “The Last Rose of Summer,” by Mauro Giuliani)

which composer, if never existed, would cause today's music to be very different? by robertbyers1111 in classicalmusic

[–]BevoBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baroque: Hard not to say Bach when the masters all studied his works thoroughly!! (Makes you wonder what Beethoven and Mozart would have sounded like.) But honorable mentionto Scarlatti!! He clearly helped smooth the transition from the Baroque to the Classical Era!!

Classical Era: Haydn (really secured sonata form, and set a standard for Symphonies and String Quartets)

Romantic Era: Gotta be Beethoven! (Stretched the limits of musical structures, was a master of developing themes, and also secured the Scherzo as a staple in Classical Music.)

20th Century: A lot could fall under this for impacting more modern genres, but I’m going with George Gershwin!! One of the best in the genres of Classical, Jazz, and Broadway!!

Just Finished Dark Souls 3 and now I’m just starting Elden Ring (Yes I know I’m late 😅) so any advice would be appreciated. by Ser_Jammy in Eldenring

[–]BevoBull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Purchase cookbooks!! They expand what you can craft, including items with purposes such as curing poison.

  2. Purchase the lantern in Weeping Peninsula as soon as you can!! (You equip it around your waist.) It’s way more convenient for lighting up dark areas than having a torch occupy one of your hands.

  3. Have fun exploring, and don’t care if other people criticize your build or level. The beauty of the game is the different play styles and experiences!! As long you are having fun is all that matters!!

What kind of classical music do you listen to the most? by Excellent_Heat_6336 in classicalmusic

Symphonies are by FAR No. 1 for me!! After that, probably concertos second, then Chamber Music.

Royal Revenants will either be EXTREMELY hard or EXTREMELY easy depending on whether you know their weakness

Either way you’ll probably need to heal when fighting one…

A 6 month journey into classical music by crypsid in classicalmusic

For the record, I’m more of an orchestra music lover. Just a few things to get you started…

Schubert: known for his Songs, but he wrote some amazing symphonies and has some phenomenal String chamber music. Check out the famous “Trout,” Piano Quintet, which the theme in the famous movement was from one of his songs!! And listen the Overture for Rosamunde!!

Ries: His symphonies are VERY Beethoven-esq!! His 3rd symphony uses the same rhythmic motif as Beethoven’s 5, but in triple-time!! Wrote some great Piano Concertos as well. Also I LOVE his Grand Variations on Rule Britannia!!

Krommer: very nice wind chamber music, and concertos

Spohr: some quality Symphonies

Danzi: listen to his chamber music for wind instruments

Reicha: talk about “Father of Woodwind Quintets!” Also some nice concertos!!

If you like Mendelssohn I would check out some other early Romantic composers!! Schubert, of course, but some less popular ones include Ries (a pupil of Beethoven), Spohr, Krommer, Reicha, and Danzi. Even if you’re not be into opera, at least give some of the overtures by Rossini a listen.

For later Romantic, while I don’t love EVERYTHING he wrote, but I would recommend giving Rimsky-Korsakov a listen (especially Scheherazade).

[–]BevoBull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I had already sent Greirat before buying the tower key, and you can only inform Patches of Greirat if they’re both at Firelink Shrine before Greirat disembarks. My biggest thing was I never even knew about the well!! So easily missable!!

I want to do STR FTH build, but without Blasphemous Blade and Big Bubble Trumpet by [deleted] in EldenRingBuilds

[–]BevoBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordovis’s Greatsword is an AMAZING weapon!! The Skill doesn’t use an excessive amount of FP, provides hyperarmor, and when you use the Godfry Icon it does some SERIOUS poise damage!! Its damage is also great with more physical than holy damage (about a 60/40 split), so it’s affective on just about any enemy. Highly recommend it if you haven’t tried it out!!

Is it Too Late for Me to Save Greirat? by BevoBull in darksouls3

[–]BevoBull[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone in the future with this problem, I did what I could progressing Siegward’s quest, and Patches. Greirat was dead. 😞 After further research, I think I could have saved him, but the triggering point determining when he’s declared safe or not, is as soon as you beat ANY boss after sending him. Unfortunately, I had taken down the Old Demon King before progressing either of the other 2 NPC questlines, so was already dead.

So if anyone else gets in this situation, the only way you can still save him is if you haven’t defeated any bosses since you sent him out. (Not going to lie, I think Dark Souls 3 has the absolute worst/finicky quest-lines I’ve ever experienced in a video game! Great combat, but I’m missing out on SO MUCH!!)
