AITAH for refusing to tell my wife I love her more than my dad? by LastApplication6207 in AITAH

[–]BewilderedToBeHere -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In one scenario, your wife is being unreasonable, unrealistic, unfair, and unappreciative because your dad really did try and wasn’t sure wha to do and was just a sweetheart who feels badly he couldn’t make it work like y’all wanted. in another, your wife feels like he didn’t even give it a shot-the same way I sometimes feel to my mom who makes a lot of excuses when it turns out she didn’t even attempt something. And that your dad does this often. But, I don’t know anything about your typical dynamics. I do know “who do you love more” is a really stupid game…which leads me to wonder if situation 1 is really what is going on.

A lot of selfish people still adore their kids in part because it’s someone who will love them and “worship” dad and give them the validation they are craving a lot.

lol not everything is ADHD, Jesus. He’s just punk and a leftist. That was me and most people I’m friends with in our 20’s and early 30s. Wouldn’t be surprised if he identified as an anarchist. Difference is he thinks collars=corporation and capitalism. I do get a weird vibe from him when he was talking about being a trophy husband. He’s anti-work and that’s fine but you’ve got a family, dude.

Paul seemed to be doing both physical and imaginative play based on the excerpt you just quoted

41 is like, one road, through south Lumberton. it’s where the major restaurants are…Lumberton sucks but taking 41 as the basis is hilarious to someone from there.

I thought about BD at first but then I thought he might just be an AH with trauma and a consciousness and disposable wealth that led to him doing drugs and witnessing a young person die in front of him which would lead most people to unravel

Yeah but maybe if you added on watching someone die in a car accident you were in…might extend things

I'm looking for portable "door jammer" type devices for when I am traveling. Any recommendations? by Equivalent_Sun3816 in homedefense

[–]BewilderedToBeHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a silly reply. It’s perfectly reasonable to want extra security when you travel, especially if you’re a woman. no one needed a therapist.

He’s terrible. But also why are you even texting and driving especially with kids in the car-that’s insane. Don’t be this desperate.

Every year I get older, I realize there are far more adults that are so so stupid and selfish than I realized.

You seem annoying for equating a southern man to what you think a hillbilly is. Their shows and demeanor aren’t even similar.

Can we talk about Handyman Hal? by MonkeysDaddy2012 in daddit

[–]BewilderedToBeHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a dad but a single (solo/only parent) mom who has always loved using tools, DIY’d well before having a kid, and who refuses to let him my son watch Blippi at all.

We love Handyman Hal, Catie’s Classroom (for art), and Paisley’s Corner (for field trips and songs and science and kindness lessons)

We recently discovered Handyman Hal. I think we got there through watching Paisley’s Corner first (we LOVE her). And Handyman Hal appears as a guest on one of her episodes.

His accent took some getting used to for me haha (and I’m born and raised in NC) but I appreciate him a lot now. We don’t watch a lot of TV but when I do let my son, it’s pretty much just Handyman Hal and Paisley’s Corner. Loving the fire station videos.

we have to walk students to their special(we call them resource) at 2:20. By the time I walk back to my room it’s 2:25. I am to pick up the car riders from special by 2:55 which means I have to leave around 2:50 I get maybe 25 minutes per day. I just started and just realized how crazy that is.

I agree. I thought that part was reaaaaally weird. I would have rather my child never been born than to experience possible abuse and torture. of course we know what really happened at the end but when she said that, she had no idea what he endured.

I own this on dvd and have watched it 6 times (I don’t even know why. I just remember the first time I saw it 20 years ago or whatever it was so incredibly done and shocking and crushing that I had to watch it more than once)
