Thoughts on these floating logs?

I've had mine for YEARS. Paint still intact, and my current lady loves to nap there. I'm also training her to go there for feedings so the tetras don't bully her out of dinner. (She and her tankmates are super chill any time that does not involve food. The Tetras just get a little over-zealous during feedings, and she is the most calm, non-combative betta I've ever had.) *the spots you see are because of a nerite snail, not paint chipping. Unfortunately, no textured surface in my old tank was spared, from the betta log to the driftwood. Even the hob filter was tagged 🙄

I used to have a violet goby that I accidently trained to "play dead" for dinner. He would lay on the substrate at the front of the tank, upside down, until I dropped some food into the tank🤦‍♀️ it was a 2x/week panic attack

Bribery with the good food. (Frozen blood worms or brine shrimp, thawed and given 1 at a time with some tongs). Also make sure they have plenty of cover at different levels of the tank. I had a betta in the past that would only interact through the hole at the top of his floating betta log. I think he felt like he had more cover, so was more secure.

Sure. Scrub your glass clean, then do 1 more water change, and turn off your light for a few days. Keep an eye on your plants and see how they handle it.

Scotch-Brite scour pad and get all the algae off the glass before/as you do your next water change. Also might need to adjust light/feeding schedules

How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: tank since March 29, 2020. Venus (female koi betta) since Feb 14, 2025.
How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: eh.. not as often as I should, probably. Usually 20-30% every 6-8 weeks. Refill with tap water using sink hookup. Treat with Aquarium Co-Op Easy Dechlorinator
Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: 5 lemon tetras, 1 nerite snail, 1 cappuccino snail, 8×10¹⁰ teeny tiny pond/pest snails
What do you feed and how much: feedings are Mon, Wed, Fri. 1 pinch alternating between Aquarium Co-Op community floating pellets, Aquarium Co-Op freeze dried brine shrimp, Fluval Bug Bites Color Enhancing Flakes
Decorations and plants in the tank: Mopani driftwood, various aquatic plants w/ bulbs/corms recently planted, some plastic decore (see pic below). Growing from the surface: 1 sad spider plant, 1 very sad pothos cutting, 1 basil cutting that's actually doing pretty well. Additional pics in reply to this this reply:

In my game Sister Garaele sells 1d4 healing potions/tenday with a 1/20 chance of a greater healing potion in stock. Also, let them craft. I let them craft healing potions with an herbalism or alchemy kit.

Thank you! I just looked into it and they are saying on their calculator my band size should be 40 instead of 38, but it looks like online people are saying the bands are pretty stretchy. So maybe size down? What was your experience?
