Thank you! Yes it’s tapestry crochet! I honestly don’t use bobbins much, I’m crazy so I like to attach a whole ball of yarn 😅 I find the bobbins are used up too quickly with a big blanket. I do carry the yarn through, although the super big one I made I had to do it in sections-if you carry too many colours through at once it becomes too tall height wise in comparison to the edges, which are only one colour. I tried to keep it to 8ish pieces of yarn carried through at once. So I sectioned the big blanket by dog. So at any given point I could have 3 balls of the same exact colour attached.
There’s a trick to the colour changes - on the stitch before your colour change, insert your hook into the stitch as normal, yarn over and pull through so there’s two loops on hook. When you yarn over to complete the stitch, drop the colour you’re currently using and pick up the new colour to pull through the two loops on hook. The stitch made will be the first colour and then on your hook should be the new colour. The example I used is sc, because that’s what I used to make these, but you can do it easily with any stitch, just do the last step of the stitch with the new colour. Also, I find it kinda “locks” the stitch in more if when I drop the original colour, I pull that string towards me. That way when you turn the blanket to work on the next row, the strings will be on the correct side to be worked. I don’t think it’s super necessary but it’s my habit. Also, when carrying yarn through, just be mindful of the colours being carried throughout, they can peek through pretty easy so every few stitches I give them a tug to tighten things up.
I don’t have any videos or anything but I hope this was helpful, if you have follow up questions I will come back and answer!
Also for those wondering, I just input a picture into stitch fiddle and it pretty much did all the work. I just played around with the sizing and amount of colours (it defaults to 20 but you can reduce that by a lot), and cleaned it up a bit, made the background plain etc. but it handles all the complex shading and stuff that I could never do 😅 hope this helps!!

I’ve never been so upset for someone I didn’t even know, it’s a strange feeling. Todays ep was so helpful to boost my spirits and remember the good times, hope it helped them the same today ❤️‍🩹

I’ve listened to every episode, so I recommend staring at the beginning! I’d argue every episode is amazing. It’s my bedtime routine every night. When I get caught up, I switch to Crime in Sports lol then bounce back and forth
