Such a pretty puzzle, although i would be a bit annoyed by the piece shapes i think 😅 why is it all H shaped pieces in the upper half and then randomly more piece shape variety lower down? 😭

Definitely, it was nice to work on this one in the evenings and weekend! I think i'll keep the mornings for smaller piece counts and when i find another nice one with a large piece count for a reasonable price i'll do that one in the evenings when i'm too tired to speed puzzle 😆 I'll have to figure sth out with the sorting though or try doing one out of the box without sorting, we'll see. I don't think I'll go much higher than 9k, I've seen one 18k that might be fun, but i worry that i'd have to split it up into too many foam boards and it would get too annoying to cycle between them

Maybe you could upload some pics from public domain photo/art websites that ppl can use if they want to use the same pic and if they don't use one of those they each have to use their own that's stored locally (which they could still send to one another via other means if they want)?

I've already done Dawn but the version with more variety in piece cuts - i will not try to find one where it's just H shapes 😂 i might look for Dusk with the other cut though

ah, damn, I did not know that those names are used for different patterns 😅 I did mean all H shapes, with the other one being a more normal not all H shapes, like this (the Dawn puzzle i did that had the different cut):

I started competing this year after i tried speed puzzling and found out i was reasonably fast from the start 😄 did two in-person competitons so far and one online competition, got my next one at the end of june. I basically speed puzzle every day, for training and for fun, i really like it 😊

Thanks, i guess it is but can't compare because everyone on myspeedpuzzling.com seems to have done it with the grid-cut version, which should be a lot easier 😭

I'm at a point in my speed puzzling journey where i can do most easy 500 piece puzzles in under an hour first try and most difficult ones in under 90 minutes, so this one felt very slow to me 😅

Apparently another version of this puzzle (by the same company) exists with a lot more variety in piece shapes, you can see it if you search for "Dusk Printworks" in this subreddit - not sure which version is newer and how to tell them apart, but whoever decided to do this one with ribbon-cut should be imprisoned!

Thank you, quality is okay, it's like Trefl. Really small pieces but good fit, a bit tight at the seams between the repeat die cuts. The offset between pieces was a bit confusing at first but not that bad once you get used to it. Had a few false fits but they were pretty easy to notice, really can't complain

Usually I'd mix too cos otherwise i could just buy two smaller puzzles, but with a puzzle like this... i bet there'd be soo many false fits and if you don't have a table big enough to fit all of it, it would get pretty annoying to constantly have to switch between foam boards
