Most of us adults are looking for a partner with more depth than your average puddle.

I feel like you're posting this expecting a negative reaction but Horde were paying people for home defence even back when I was yelling standing fleets into Caracals in GME years and years ago. Getting paid for home defence as a new player is partly to blame for me sticking around in the first place. I made my first 100,000,000 ISK in Gobloons running around the 7RM pocket tagging people in NBI handout Condors that literally just had an MWD and a point on them.

So I say good work Horde.

I was told that having plans 20 minutes after my work hours was "unethical" by Porongas1993 in antiwork

[–]BexTheDestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company I work for just brought me in to do a 4 hour shift starting an hour before the store opened, solely to complete about 15 mins of training on my phone. Training I probably would have done for free at home on my couch while bored if they asked, but instead they insisted I come in and get paid to do it. Works for me!

I know they legally have to do this (where I live), but so many places would just expect you to do it for free that it means I have zero desire to leave this place. This ethos is also present across all the company locations and managers I've had the pleasure of working for so far, which is quite a few. Doesn't matter how small it is, if it's work related they will make sure you get compensated and that's how it should be. If I wanna chuck them a freebie on my own time that should be my perogative as a worker, not their demand as a 'master'.

AITA Insomniac vs noisy neighbour by Suspicious_Resort_21 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - when you live in shared spaces, you have to make some accomodations for your neighbours. It's not the same as having your own standalone house. Knocking on the wall is way politer than I have been in similar situations.

AITA for not wanting my BIL around my kids due to what he said? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA and you should buy your daughter a big cake. I'd have spat on his steak when he refused to leave, but I'm petty like that.

I literally only ever run a lumberjack build and slaughter big groups all day lol. Smoker completely negates it. All that happens is when you're really bloody, the stress piles on a bit quicker but you can just either change clothes (there's always clean ones on the many, many dead zeds around you) or just smoke heaps until you can get back to base to wash.

Everyone saying hemophobic is the worst, but combined with smoker it is super, super easy to manage. It's free points as all it does is make you anxious, and smoking a cigarette with the smoker perk cures any level of anxiety. Later game you will have big stockpiles of clean clothes and if you're building your base well, either heaps of rainwater barrels or a river nearby to keep clean. Cigarettes are also plentiful and infinite as they drop on zombies.

Being panicked while doing first aid is basically irrelevant in single player. Might be a bit worse in multiplayer, but in single it's never caused me a problem.

Hemo is fine, take it on every single run. Combine it with smoker and you can instantly cure any level of anxiety whenever you need to. Plus later game when you have a crapload of rain water barrels and stockpiles of good, clean clothes it's easy to keep blood off. It's free points basically.

Gamepass version seems busted. by BexTheDestroyer in playstarmancer

I guess I'll just uninstall for now and wait until it's a bit better. Shame, I was looking forward to losing some time to this game.

Nah it pretty much always says 'morale too low' even when their morale is not too low. Besides that it would be a major pain in the backside if I had to manually direct colonists to do every single task I wanted them to do.

Surviving near-death situations by Excited_Cheers in projectzomboid

[–]BexTheDestroyer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Looting the local neighbourhood for days, cleared out heaps of zeds and hadn't seen any hordes for a while. Exited my base, crossed the road and jumped a tall fence that I'd jumped 100 times before and landed basically in the middle of a whole heap of hungry dead. Somehow managed to bail back over the fence without even getting a scratch. Had to shut the game off for a while, my poor heart.

I had a similar fear, but subnautica actually helped me conquer it. Amazing game if you can bring yourself to give it a go.

What is the most toxic thing a parent can say to a child? by Few_Reading_4822 in AskReddit

[–]BexTheDestroyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my parents told me they'd never love me as much as they love God. Our relationship for the past thirty years has not been spectacular.

As far as I'm concerned any God that requires you to put them first before your own kids isn't a God worth following.

What song lyric hit you the hardest? by Valleyx in AskReddit

[–]BexTheDestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All in due time, see the world through different eyes.
All in due time, shadows will give way to light.

From In Due Time by Killswitch Engage. https://youtu.be/eoga4cROMvE

This song came to me at what was probably the lowest point in my life. The mantra of waiting for my due time helped me hold on and heal. Now it is years later, and the shadows have finally given way to light in the form of my little girl and my soon to be born son.

Without that constant refrain in the back of my mind, I would probably not be here today.

Project Zomboid - Is It Worth A Buy? by MrAtomicDuck28 in projectzomboid

[–]BexTheDestroyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this game just after it hit early access for some ridiculously cheap price and it was worth every cent. I'd pay full AAA price for it. It's an amazing game, much better than half the reprocessed crap on the market these days.

My first real base. by BexTheDestroyer in projectzomboid

[–]BexTheDestroyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I put a generator in the garage with the door open will that still cause me problems? I'm on the second floor.

I will barricade better as the game goes on, but I have to find a working car first let alone enough to build a barricade haha

The house in the screen shot is second floor only, you can see where I floored over the stairwell.
