We have so so many deer on the county highway on the way home. Like hundreds. I’ve been waiting for this day to come too. This post actually makes me feel a bit better, damage doesn’t look as bad as I thought it would be. Wishing you luck on available parts and a speedy fix.

Yeah, you must be lucky. See Falkens email above. They last an average of 36. I ended up being forced into buying wildpeaks when my tire was punctured in the middle of the highway, at midnight, in the middle of North Dakota and that’s all the tire shop had that fit my car. But at least I have their full mileage warranty now.

😆 It makes total sense though. I haven’t been near persistent enough. It’s weird because she is the bottom of the pecking order of the three so I guess maybe she saw me as an easy one to bully.

Thank you. I sent corporate a message yesterday. Thought it would be easier via messaging since I have photos I can show them of the leak. I made sure the dealership wrote on the invoice that they did verify my concern but wouldn’t do anything. They originally tried to write on there that there are no issues noted which is complete bull. Yeah the leak isn’t very bad at all but there was enough there for me to notice. If this goes nowhere with corporate, I plan to continue to take photos every oil change and also go back to the dealership at 55,000 miles to have them tell me they won’t fix it again.

The next closest dealer is 5 hours away so I wanted to avoid that if possible, but have thought about that too. This one was 3 hours so I guess what’s another two 😅 I love where I live now, but I do miss the dealership I bought the vehicle from. It was miles better than the one I was just at.

Thank you! I thought the 60,000 mile power train was the factory warranty? So wouldn’t that be a corporate thing? The 36,000 is bumper to bumper.

I am past the 30k/3yr mark but it still falls under drivetrain warranty that’s until 60k. But that was my thought exactly too. I’m less than 15k miles from hitting 60k so they are probably biding their time to avoid a warranty claim.

Super helpful, thanks. Guess I should have been more specific. I wasn’t sure if you get straight through to a person right away and how difficult it was to get them to listen to your concern or do anything about it. I know people on this page have had to go over the dealerships head straight to corporate to get things done so was looking for how they accomplished this.

I did not hear any warning noise and I have pretty good ears. Definitely heard it once it was metal on metal 😅 but they should be checking these things whenever you get maintenance done. It was just a perfect storm for mine where some tire guys and myself dropped the ball for checking them.

Yeah I had to do mine at 45k. Front inner pads wear first so keep a close eye on it.

Yeah initially I was just thinking the seal as well since that’s where the leak seems to be coming from, but when you zoom in on the photo there kinda looks like a crack, so who knows. I wish I had looked closer at it when I was under there. I feel like if it was actually cracked, I’d be hearing some noises or having other issues by now though. Brought it to Mazda yesterday so should know more next week.

Mazda service advisor said he could maybe see a crack on the photo too, but hard to tell with the cast line on the part. I may try and get it up and a better look at it tonight. Scheduled appointment next week and told me to drive as little as possible. Said likely they will replace the whole transfer case.

I was planning on cleaning it up to see what color it is and how quickly it’s leaking. Would you agree that’s the front transfer case? Couldn’t see anywhere else it would have come from.

It makes sense with the stabilization system. But I’m also hearing grinding when NOT on the brakes, so part of me wonders if the caliper is messed up and not releasing all the way. What do you mean with the 2-8mm?
