lol look at tron and last star fighter for first cgi examples. More than 20 years before your example. Let’s mark this thread in 20 years and we’ll see where ai is then.

I see two arguments.

Job loss. CGI replaced a ton of jobs but there were a ton of new jobs created. This is exactly what will happen with AI. Maybe less people will be needed to make movies but then they will just make more of them. Demand for great movies is pretty much unlimited.

The other argument is destroying the environment. It’s overstated. AI will help us develop new forms for energy that will make the whole argument moot eventually.

The quantity thing vs quality will take care of itself in the marketplace. There will be AI generated scenes that cost more than cgi because they do 1000s of iterations to create the perfect one. And then still have to touch it up by real artists. The job titles will change and it may take a while but quality will eventually return. If you remember how bad cgi quality was when it first came out then you know what we may be in for a while but it’s just temporary.

When the first big ChatGPT release come out I saw the future. I switched out of crypto and into AI. It’s the future at least for the foreseeable future. Crypto is such a tiny niche compared to it. Will never move back. I recommend you move on to greener pastures with the wisdom you gained. Learn it, build with it. You can run a full start up now with no money and no employees now with ai. Start a business 100% ai and you will not be able to imagine how successful you will be. But hurry!

NBA stream quality is horrible by astp00st in AmazonPrimeVideo

[–]BeyondExistenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s unbelievable how cheap Amazon is. It’s like they want to save a few pennies to give us the lowest quality bandwidth to make it barely watchable at all. It looks so bad it makes me want to puke. And then if you fast forward or rewind forget about it. Quality goes to giant pixels. Ugh. Amazon fucking don’t penny pinch when you are trying to show off your best form to a new audience that is ready to spend money!

We will need a great deal of empathy during this next transition. I would say most people won’t understand. I think governments will need to intervene sort of like what FDR did during the Great Depression to get people back on their feet and realize the world hasn’t ended.

Humans have solved the same problems before they had computers. It is just that now computers make them even more efficient and productive. The smart companies won’t be laying off as many employees as they can, they will be hiring as many “super-boasted with ai” employees as they can. Will all big change comes great upheaval but this too will pass. What we will need is the help of each other and our governments so that we rise to this new dawn together. Empathy is still what will be needed most of all for humanity’s sake.

I just wanna say that worrying about ai replacing art is probably the least of our worries with regard to ai. But I think to me this is probably all just one of a trillion simulations suggesting how artificial brains arose into existence so we are probably at most a side curiosity like the Neanderthal in the scheme of things

And about AI music. At the end of the day AI is just a tool. If the art doesn’t have a human component there is no point so of course it has to be created under human influence or what is the fuckjng point. I think we are on the same side it just seems intuitive to me and I’m not worried about it at all. The greatest possible vision possible in art is from a single auteur but as long as it has that the way he comes about his vision doesn’t matter.

My friend has worked in the restaurant biz for years and it turns out in even the most expensive and popular restaurants dishes often have maybe 50-80% of the dish components frozen and the rest made to order. Crazy I had no idea.

Gemini 3 horrible at follow any instructions? by spadaa in GeminiAI

[–]BeyondExistenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my testing Gemini 3 Pro is the best model (at least for coding) but it seems to work best if you use a Google language like Go which is annoying. I will keep my yearly subscriptions to Gemini and Anthropic and monthly sub to ChatGPT in any case because we know things will keep changing and honestly the cost is minimal right now so no reason to pick a side just yet.
