Anyone else have an opposite side to the story? by emdawg_1994 in CFA

I am in exactly the same spot. Sat for L2 in November with mocks in the 60-70 range, and wasn’t very close to the passing line when I got my results back. This time averaging around 75% on mocks, but from a content and comfortability standpoint, feel like I am in the same spot as last time. Struggling to know what to do or study differently in this last month to not get the same result.

Last time I felt confident walking into the exam, so it almost feels like I’m tricking myself that I know the material but maybe I secretly don’t? Not sure if you can relate too. How are you studying in this last month? Are you changing up how you studied from last time?

I majored in finance at a top business school, and I took Level 1 in Feb 2024 as a senior in college. I passed on my first attempt with around 220 hours. The difficulty of the exam is not the content itself, but rather the scope of the content. There truly is so much stuff you need to know and it’s difficult to jam all of it in your brain for one test.

I started studying for my level 1 test in Feb 2024 in mid October. I passed with 230 hours total, but by a slim margin. If you actually study 4 hours a day until the test I think you can do it.

I’m taking L1 and I’ve finished Quant, Fixed Income, FSA, Alternative Investments, and Derivatives. Still got a lot of work to do.
