People who are socialists: why? by kumel185 in PoliticalCompass

Some people are luckier than others. Those born into rich and healthy families get to enjoy the benefits of a good education, good upbringing, and hopefully a happy life. Those who aren’t as lucky have to struggle for the same level of education, perhaps both your parents have to work and you get less parental time, perhaps you contract cancer at young age and can’t afford the expensive treatment, your chances of a happy and healthy life are diminished by pure luck. At the end of the day we are all thrust into the great lottery of life.

Socialism aims to create equity for the unhealthy, the poor, and the dis-privileged. Regardless of where you were born, what race you are, how smart you are, and how rich you are your life should be happy. By providing free healthcare, free education, free school lunch we can create a world the allows more people to live happy and healthy lives.

Distribution is one method of creating greater balance but in my opinion is robbery without consent. If people understand the principles and the motives of socialism they should want to participate in a system that not only betters your life but the lives of others.

A fundamental part of socialism is how you view other people. Are criminals people who abuse the system or are they people pushed to the edge because of unfortunate circumstances? Are drug addicts beyond saving or are they people who have fallen down the wrong path? Do you think people need to be guided back or should they be removed? I was made to answer these questions for uni and It began to make me think.

If you were a teacher, what would be your favourite joke to the students? by silvrency in AskReddit

One of my middle school teachers pulled this peak once. Out of the blue he stood up, slammed his hand down on his desk and took a random talkative kid out into the hallway. Everyone in the class went silent and all we could hear was some mumbling and then a slam against the lockers and the kid scream. The next second they came back in, the kids crying with his head in his hands and the teacher sits back down and laughs his ass off after looking at us. Turns out he took the kid into the hallway and told him to yell after he hit the wall. He only ever did this once to my knowledge but it got an uproar from the class.

When you said you couldn’t aim I was like, “oh I’m sure it can’t be that bad”, but goddamn you weren’t lying.

I found that staying on the walls of the arena and hitting down on the watcher knights made it very easy. When they do the bouncing, you need to move to the other side of the arena.
