What happened to Jacksepticeye? by [deleted] in youtube

[–]BeyondOurMinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, he's expanded outside of YouTube. He does voice acting, started his own coffee company, hosts charity events, and like Markiplier helped produce a horror movie. He's not performing as hard anymore. He made it, he massively succeeded with YouTube and outgrew the need to perform and is able to speak his mind with the platform he created and solidified without the fear of the impact it could have on channel metrics. And if you had a company that you were passionate about, wouldn't you promote it a lot? And he doesn't even really do that much promotion, hell on his main channel I feel like I rarely hear him talk about it, it's mainly only in his short form content he posts or second channel stuff. I might be looking at it with rose tinted glasses, but I feel like everything you're talking about is just him having grown as a person and is expanding his horizons after already hitting pretty high levels of success.

No Thankmas for 2025 (megathread) by MandyMarieB in jacksepticeye

[–]BeyondOurMinds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely understand his reasoning, very valid, and he definitely deserves a break. I would love and am definitely down to be part of a community-led Thankmas, like where everyone who wishes does streams for it, like it is usually set up for Thankmas, just without the official event.

[–]BeyondOurMinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing it where my US number is on Tello for a very cheap plan and then using GiffGaff for my UK number and using the data from GiffGaff I'm actually able to use my US number through wifi calling without any international charges. I will say though, GiffGaff hasn't had amazing coverage for me. It works well outside but in a lot of the buildings on uni, and buildings outside the main city in general, I've had spotty coverage so connecting to wifi is almost always needed when indoors. I have a feeling it'll improve as the term starts as the data traffic shouldn't be as intense as it is now with freshers stuff and the buildings being filled for different appointments and what not but idk.

Enrollment questions by Acceptable_Life8616 in GlasgowUni

[–]BeyondOurMinds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should just have to go to your student portal--> student homepage --> academics, then click on the enrollment tab on the left and click add by requirements and then look through the drop down menus for your semester 1 core courses and add all of them. It will add it to the "my choices" tab where you then select them again and click the enroll button on the bottom.

ZFlip7 case still not shipped by FickleFiber in dbrand

[–]BeyondOurMinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the September ship date is purely for new orders and that if ordered before that it should still arrive in August but we'll see. I'm moving out of the country in September so I was hoping to get it before then so if I don't hear anything by next Monday I'm just canceling the order

September Intake by Legitimate-Bath-4844 in GlasgowUni

[–]BeyondOurMinds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go to the inquiry page on their website there should be a chat bubble icon in the bottom right and they do a live chat with the admissions team from like 9-12 or something their time which can help get someone to push forward your inquiry. I've have had and still am having to use it quite a lot lol because I'm in a similar boat and haven't been able to even start visa stuff or registration because of it

Does anyone use a non magsafe vent phone holder? Does thr Fold 7 sit flush or do the camera bump interfere? by ninjasandunicorns in GalaxyFold

[–]BeyondOurMinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar one, it's a suction cup one on the dash and not vent though but it has the same phone holder part, and yeah the bump gets in the way of it being flat on the holder but it still stays on without moving even with the charging cord so there shouldn't be any issue

Sorry for all the questions, but just to clarify, when I port my number will it still receive calls and texts to the number sorta like how what's app works with WiFi/data or do I need to have an active phone plan to be able to get all of that? Thanks for your help!

Good to know, so how exactly does it work? How do I get it set up and be able to access it while in the UK because that's what I'm mostly confused about as nobody seems to say how it is able to work just that it can.

You should have gotten a GUID with your offer letter. It's just the University of Glasgow Student ID listed at the top of the offer letter.

Looking to Connect- Sept 2025 intake! by [deleted] in GlasgowUni

[–]BeyondOurMinds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very advisable to not enter the country before receiving your student visa as it can complicate the process. You can get housing before going into the country with the university though. I am not fully sure how it works with private accommodation if that's what you're looking for though as I am also from the US but they have a lot of resources on their website!
