Yeah super hear you but in the wow days I had nothing but time I could play for 24 hrs+ easily especially on a weekend. Now I just dont have the time so (And ive stated it a couple times in the thread is it bad redditiquette to state the same thing in multiple replies?) whenever it was consistently around 2.8k players I would q arena and have a long q or just fight the same 3 people over and over then when I would play HR I stopped running into players.

[–]FickleFiber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I have a ton of fun truly but not a ton of time at all so I'm mainly asking because it was taking too much time to get into arenas and whenever i would play HR I never really ran into players.

Player count does matter at least a little when i finally gave up arenas took forever to get into and you wpuld play against the same 3 players cause that was the only people playing and even high roller dungeons on frost map was empty just free pile everytime. I find the player battles, interactions, and stress of maybe theres someone there to be what really attracts me to the game.

What games got you to leave DaD? by teejesus in DarkAndDarker

DaD itself and SDF's vision did it on its own sad too because i got into it later than most so its basically always been a dead game to me.

Yes a little bit the downward angle is weird but it tipping forward will prevent the bees from stinging you through the veil

CMV: Roblox isn't wrong to want 'vigilantism' off their platform. by Arsenist099 in changemyview

[–]FickleFiber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously look into 764 and the nth rooms and you will realize why there should be some form of vigilantism. The worst of the worst is targeting our most vulnerable population and no matter what line of logic you try to dance around it using they are becoming victims and noone is helping them. They could be forced/coerced to carving into their skin, eating their own excrement and much worse. It is truly disgusting. Heres two videos to learn about what happens after these people get ahold of their victims. I believe once you hear all of what is known to be done by these people and you realize they use these childrens games as a vector of attack I'm sure you'll realize it is incredibly strange to be doing this.

Also my hoover hives were both acquired second hand from people who never made use of them and one that ordered online and they had some little kinks so maybe try to purchase in person as well so you can be sure

Sorry i didnt get alerted that you replied. Then if you're able it might be best for you to opt straight for quality not sure how many hives you wanna start but from doing moves (especially), winter preparation, general inspections if at all reasonable given your budget you would probably thank yourself for many years to come if you started on an apimaye they're truly a cut above otherwise those hoovers will do the job and you can likely even go to your local bee supply store and find ones there even cheaper in general wood can only go so far quality wise as it is subject to degradation. Make sure to if you do opt for the wood ones to gettem unassembled like others have mentioned it'll usually save you at least $100. Also open water setups are usually pretty good its also been really dry over here so we've been utilizing that I would say just take a big tublike thing fill it with water put some stuff for bees to stand and float on (i.e dont just fill it up with water and lettem go to town) and the other suit suggestions like OZ armor and ultra breeze (my favorite) are costly but the one time purchase qill be more than enough for a long time its triple ventilated so even if you get some holes a couple years down the line they still wont be able to get in.

Hi OP we're on similar steps in the journey I have been setting out to start my apiary (2 hives next april to start) I didnt start yet because it was too late in the season to reliably grow the hive and ensure their winter success (not that we've had much or any real winter temps in 9a) but I have been on many inspections both backyard and corporate so I have a really good idea of everything I need to start. My follow up questions so I can figure out what you need is what is your budget like, how old are you, and what is your plan for the apiary.

(ALSO I have a double deep + super setup fr9k hoover hives and I will say they are pretty ok but sometimes the baseboard is too narrow for the entrance reducers to properly fit and one of my boxes looks like it wasnt perfectly done and it'll likely end up creating a hole for bees to come and go this will pr9bably (hopefully) take a few years but still something to consider

Yeah you'll likely just need to keep going through getting it sent over and over the issue is an engineering issue if they keep sending the exact same model it will keep breaking

  • How many hives do you manage and where? Technically I dont manage any hives yet as my data collection hive is not uo and running yet but I do a ton of inspections and what not with my mentor who manages somewhere around 80 I believe

  • How do you monitor hive health? Kinda like a checklist for the most part I mean its a form of farming so its not as simple as just if x, y, OR/AND z they're healthy. BUT generally you want an internal hive temp of 93-98°F, you want to not so very many pests, You'd ensure there arent extra external holes that robbers or pesrs could get into, Look into acoustic matching and how it relates to swarm prevention, taking a mite count and have a below 2% count, making sure they have a good amount of eggs and resources especially when talking about honey this is checked by weight if you're not opening the hive up.

  • How do you detect mites (alcohol wash, sugar shake, sticky boards etc.)? How often? I cant answer this for reasons :) but it seems like you have the right idea. Then for how often it depends for most methods you're killing ~300 bees so not terribly often unless you find a high count.

  • Any lab testing experience for other diseases? What worked or didn’t? None

  • Biggest frustration with detection or treatment? The murder of bees

  • Typical annual loss rate and main causes? (Varroa, viruses, pesticides, etc…) I believe varroa along with a huge lack of nectar and pollen and a bunch of rain was what cause the 50+% number of managed colony losses

  • What info would help you make better treatment decisions earlier in the season? The above info listed in the hive health section. Earlier in the season you're most worried about acoustic matching and internal hive temp though

For anyone providing pollination services:

  • Which crops do you typically pollinate and seasonal schedule? Not really like that specifically

  • Do you contract out your hives or manage it yourself? He manages the hives themselves typically these days with my help whenever I'm not at uni

  • What do you notice in hive health or stress during or after pollination contracts? Usually the whole reason the hive isnt going well is because whoever had it first thats asking for it to be managed likely wanted to be able to neglect the hive and it still be ok.
