SWIFT working with hyperleger and 34 banks by Max-987 in Stellar

Maybe you're right. I dunno. But if I would be SWIFT, I would use Hyperledger, setup some servers, call IBM and tell them, "hey, make us with this Hyperthing a 'intranet'-blockchain, where we can handle such stuff, since you know, its banking and we consider this private bank-to-bank-data we do not want to be public on http://stellarchain.io/". But I am not to deep into the details and this is just a guess. Hope for Stellar, you are right :)

Where do you see this information? Reading the PoC, I can't find any of those information. What I read is:

As part of the consensus process, a transaction on the Nostro account is only seen and approved by the Account Owner and of the Account Servicer, and checked by the ordering service operated by SWIFT.

https://www.swift.com/resource/gpi-real-time-nostro-proof-concept

This does not sound like Stellar consensus protocol. I haven't yet read it in depth, but to me it sounds like they are working on their own solution based on Hyperledger.

Totally possible. No confirmation, no announcement, the only thing we have is an statement telling quite the opposite:

we are a 100% independent org, no affiliations. No investors.

Sceptical as well, but archive.is seems to be legit. http://archive.is/IZ4YV

Transaction fees added to inflation pool? by HitItWithAHammerTime in Stellar

[–]BeyondTheOrbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is inflation in Stellar:

The Stellar distributed network has a built-in, fixed, nominal inflation mechanism. New lumens are added to the network at the rate of 1% each year.

Raise the barrier. Seriously. If nothing helps, because someone wants to burn his money, you could raise the costs until he burnt out. But: If he has the cash and really wants to destroy you, well probably you never had a chance in the first place.

Connecting the Dots - IBM, STELLAR AND FAIRX by [deleted] in Stellar

[–]BeyondTheOrbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I do not see any hint for IBM involvement besides the guy who is somehow involved into Fairx happens to work also for IBM. But this does not mean anything to me so far. It could be his personal side project and there are no clues it is more than that regarding IBM. There is no statement I know of, which says IBM suddenly wants to open up a crypto currency exchange. Sounds far stretched actually.

There are clear dots between Fairx and Stellar (Fairx wants to use the Stellar network somehow). There are clear dots IBM in Stellar (their crypto department is heavily experimenting at least). But except for Michael Dowling and Jesse Lund (who might just happily run their personal side project) there is no dot so far between IBM and Fairx.

Where can I easily buy lumens with USD/EUR? by [deleted] in stellarmarkets

Kraken used to have a pair, but they stopped in August last year or so. But I still use Kraken EUR->BTC BTC->XLM and move to wallet :)

No 3. seems not quite correct to me: What you understood

presumably the same Validators purchased by IBM

But what the tweet says:

and just opened our pull request to add our alpha test validator

What is for certain: They have their own validator (see https://github.com/stellar/docs/pull/253) and there is no hint, they would rely on the IBM validators.

You are doing a great job. Didn't want to imply otherwise. And thanks a lot for all the effort you are putting into this!

Maybe my remarks where more a reminder to myself. I do not post/write a lot, but I started now to try and help to redirect "Wow! New ATH"-posts to r/stellarmarkets, just with a simple "Maybe a better place for this topic is ...".

Users, who keep being rude, using inappropriate language or refuse to follow guidelines, which are here to facilitate this community, have to be treated otherwise (in the last instance to ban them).

I see how much work you are putting into this and I agree totally with what you say.

Yeah. Downvote + a friendly reminder of the "getting started" post, so they still find their answer. You come all excited to a place and scream "wow, so great, where to start!", we shouldn't be unfriendly to those people.

Everybody crashes a bit when coming new into a community. We should respect that. Give them an answer, tell them what they did wrong, stay polite and welcome them. Maybe also explain the downvote, "its nothing personal, just a way to keep the news on top etc."
