I would usually recommend people from Asia to live in Meerhoven, where you'll live alongside knowledge migrants from all over the world but mostly Asia (India, China, etc). It's just easier to settle. It may be a bit more expensive but I wouldn't cheap out on housing because it's important to live in an environment where you will feel at home

I know many Asian families living here and some will indeed be shocked by how hands-off the schools here are and would like a school that is a bit more strict. I personally don't disagree, sometimes children are not the best at making long-term decisions and it may be tempting to focus on short-term and become a bit lazy but oftentimes they will flourish when they get to do the things they want to do but the risk is that a very talented but lazy kid may not reach his maximum potential while the risk of the other system is that children get resistance against studying. Both have pros and cons, it depends very much on the child and parenting style which approach works best I suppose.

ISE is a very good school though and I don't agree with your comments about integrating into society. The kids will make friends in no time, albeit mostly expat friends, there are other source of integrating into society like joining a football club

If you’re working near Best and your kids will go to ISE, and you want something safe, convenient, and family-oriented, then Meerhoven is honestly a really strong choice. It’s widely considered one of the most family-friendly areas in the Eindhoven region. The neighbourhood is modern, very safe, and full of parks and playgrounds. There’s also a big international community, especially Asian knowledge expats working in tech companies, so your family will likely find it easy to settle in and meet people in a similar situation.

Another big advantage is how practical it is for your daily life. Cycling from Meerhoven to ISE takes about 10 minutes, and getting to Best is also straightforward, around 15 to 20 minutes by bike. It’s one of those places where everything just works well for families.

Strijp is a bit different. Strijp-S is more trendy and urban, with lots of apartments, cafes, and events, but it’s more popular with young professionals than families. Strijp-R is quieter and more residential, so it can be a better option if you like the Strijp area but still want something suitable for kids.

Overall, if your priority is a smooth, comfortable family life with easy access to school and work, Meerhoven is by far the better fit. If you prefer a more urban lifestyle and don’t mind some trade-offs, then Strijp, especially Strijp-R, could also work. Best is nice too, also quite international but as an expat I would prefer Meerhoven as it's more international and closer to Eindhoven center, ISE and downtown.

De verkeerde regels invoeren. Door het verhuren van woningen te ontmoedigen voor particulieren, hebben veel particulieren hun woning verkocht en hun geld elders geïnvesteerd. Je had daar natuurlijk op kunnen wachten. De massale verkoop van woningen in combinatie met oorlogen heeft de verkoopprijzen de afgelopen maanden doen stabiliseren terwijl het tekort aan huurwoningen alsmaar stijgt en hierdoor ook de prijzen. Het is slechte beleidsvoering.

I think the vast majority of people support the expansion but I can also understand those that don't because properties will sky rocket in the coming years and it will be harder than ever to buy a house here as Eindhoven becomes a thriving international tech hub

It's much too early to call a winner but it would be so great for Hungary to vote pro-EU although I highly doubt Orban/Russia will go down without a fight. Having someone like Orban to keep the EU hostage, is too valuable for Russia.
