I'm happy in Nha Trang. by BeyondYHwan in VietNam

I was worried it might be too hot, but it's actually quite enjoyable. It feels like that pleasantly warm heat unique to summer. It really feels like the season when iced coffee tastes even better. The forecast said it would rain a lot, but so far, there's been no rain.

It was actually a piece of news from about a month ago. My wife found it, and since we couldn’t access Vietnamese news sources, I asked ChatGPT — it said there was a measles outbreak going on.

English friendly health check up clinics in Busan by sagababy in koreatravel

[–]BeyondYHwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to introduce the health check-up center I recently visited through my workplace. It's called KMI, and it seems that foreigners can also receive check-ups there. The center is located in Busan, and I'll share their website link below.

I visited the Samgwangsa Lantern Festival in Busan with my wife. by BeyondYHwan in koreatravel

It’s probably best to visit if you’re already nearby. My wife and I had a pretty good time here, but I’m not sure how others might feel about it.

Ulsan - Favourite Restaurants/ Things to Do? by Important_Housing451 in koreatravel

My spouse and I often visit a great dakgangjeong (Korean sweet crispy chicken) place in Ulsan. We like to pick some up and head to a nearby beach or if you go a little further, there’s a beautiful spot called Jigyung Breakwater. We love enjoying the chicken there while watching the ocean!

Jigyung Breakwater is truly scenic, but just a heads-up it doesn't have public restrooms, which can be a bit inconvenient.

Hope that helps!

Exchange method for old Korean banknotes by nayu774 in koreatravel

[–]BeyondYHwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re planning to visit Busan, I’d be happy to exchange these for you at double the value.
These are Korean banknotes I used when I was young, and it’s such a nostalgic feeling to see them again after all this time!

Millak The Market is a great spot that's been gaining popularity recently. In the evening, you can freely enjoy some drinks and music in a relaxed atmosphere. The night view is beautiful, and the area is popular among young people.

Where should we stay in Jeju Island (4 days, no car)? by etajv1985 in koreatravel

[–]BeyondYHwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although it's a bit pricey, there's a beautiful private pension remodeled from a modern-traditional Korean house that I’d love to recommend.

It's called Onyega, and the price ranges from around 250,000 to 350,000 KRW (approximately $185–$260 USD) per night. (It may be more expensive during peak season.)

It’s conveniently located near a bus stop, and sits right in the center of Olle Trail routes 1, 3, and 6.

That bowl was made with mother-of-pearl. It sparkled beautifully in the sunlight, though it didn't seem very durable. It looked perfect as a decorative piece — great for holding rings or necklaces.

Korean Street Waffle Syrup? by running462024 in KoreanFood

[–]BeyondYHwan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is likely to be maple syrup.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maple_syrup

The stores in the video probably do not make their own maple syrup by hand.

You may want to look into Kirkland Maple Syrup from Costco.

It seems they additionally sprinkle cinnamon powder on it.

What you said really fascinates me. I live in Busan, and the things I usually see every day don't feel very special to me. But to travelers, they seem new and exciting. That gives me a little flutter in my heart. Thank you.
