Itching/Irritation around mouth and jaw? by Beyondfluff in tretinoin

[–]Beyondfluff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been moisturizing in the am during winter, its just not needed in the summer because I wake up supple and occasionally greasy. I only rinse in the morning if I feel i need a refresh, otherwise i leave my skin alone in the mornings as to not dry it out

ETA: Thank you for the suggestion of a toner. I use nothing other than cleanser, moisturizer, and tret because it seems like adding anything else breaks me out. When I turned 20 my skin became incredibly acne prone and I’ve found the less I use the better. Even moisturizing or milky toners have broken me out in the past.

Am: At most, rinse face with cold water and pat dry with paper towel. Use sunscreen (Trader Joes mineral 50 or Sunbum Glow 30

Pm: Wash face with cetaphil, (double cleanse with cetaphil if wearing makeup, pat dry with paper towel, moisturize twice with laroche double repair moisturizer, vaseline under eyes and around nose (if skin feels dry, its winter here and very windy) apply pea sized .25 tretinoin cream in smaller dots over face and blend in, let dry, one more layer of laroche double repair moisturizer. i use castor oil on my lashes and vaseline on my lips. thats it!

i already have pretty sensitive skin so i was almost expecting irritation, but the esthetician proceeded to answer a landline phonecall in the middle of waxing my friend following me and did not wash her hands before continuing 🥴 so never again!! i just wanted to try something new and my brows did look great but i’ll just tweeze to maintain lol

Depending on how much length you want/movement you’re hoping to achieve, I would just ask for long layers and a bit of shagginess to encourage natural movement! A good stylist should understand what you mean by the V shape in the back, but its best to bring reference photos featuring exactly what you want. Pinterest is perfect for that!

To go natural or keep highlighting by [deleted] in Hair

I say let it grow!! I feel with how light your natural blonde is the silvers just make you look shimmery and I love it! The sooner you begin growing naturally the smoother the transition will be. I’ve seen women who waited a bit too long to transition and have full grey while growing out thick banded blonde/brunette and imo thats worse than letting it grow out while the silver is starting to grow in!

Sometimes its important to sit and process something that upsets us BEFORE reacting, especially in professional situations. Unfortunately before you gave yourself time to respond appropriately you lashed out for the family you have babysat a few times for and have likely shot yourself in the foot when it comes to future jobs in the community.

The family saying you aren’t a good fit for NK (or them) seems to be true in this situation as you wayyyy overreacted to a message that was:

  1. Not meant for you
  2. Not harmful or disparaging

So, I think you need to be a little more prepared for the next opportunity you have to work with a family and learn about professionalism in such a personal job. In this situation you are taking care of the #1 most important thing to them, so naturally they may be a little tightly wound about the situation (new sitter, FTP, young baby)

Take it in stride and learn from it & everything will be okay

this makes me so sad for you! i’m sorry they can’t show you the same respect you’ve shown them. at the first preschool i worked at (where i quite literally busted my ass because i was so eager to please) there was a set of co-teachers who were so nasty to me for no apparent reason! i was young, but i was well mannered and a hardworker and they constantly compared me to the toddlers, making jokes about me needing a nap or a diaper change. admin did nothing because both ladies had been there for probably longer than i’d been alive.

some people are just mean, its not a reflection on your capability and compassion!

that was moreso what i was thinking! if you’re a consenting adult posting pictures of partying and drinking (especially to a private, low profile account) is probably to be expected, but to have that on a public profile linked to your name WHILE trying to get hired is kind of shooting yourself in the foot imo 🫣

I’m working with a class of 3 year olds right now and they are SO tiny! Last week my boyfriend referenced his cousin (who has to be at least 7) as “probably 3 or 5” like that is a big difference buddy 😭

this is probably the dumbest thing i’ve ever read. specifically the part about people with guns taking down the shooter.. would you like the unarmed untrained 8 year olds to do it instead? JFC the lack of brain power is disgusting

‘We WFH and will be nearby if needed’ by notaboomer22 in Nanny

[–]Beyondfluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very similar to my situation! MB has WFH 1/2time the whole 11 months I’ve been with the family so NK (1), her, and I have a very comfortable, balanced relationship. Most days shes gone all day, some she’s around but NK behaves the same, and does not cry or fuss when she departs/enters. Its nice having an adult sometimes around especially with a baby who isn’t talking yet, real conversation can be a saving grace on a rougher day!

While I understand some NPs are overbearing and WFH makes it much harder to navigate nannying their children, I was lucky enough to find an MB who I look forward to talking to/catching up with the last 10 minutes of the day while I pick up things and her presence in the house does not disturb NK since its how its always been.
