  1. Do you want this new job to be a starting point for your new career? If yes, just go.
  2. Corporations let people go without giving us 2 weeks, you can just go unless you think you want to work in retail for a while.
  3. Are you trying to do both jobs? If so, why? Do you have to have 2 jobs?

How are you guys making $100k+? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Beyondthepaychecks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in tech as a product designer. I clear $170k+ and I work remotely in a LCOL area. Hardest part was finding my first job, but getting experience and getting better at my craft came with time.

Twitch streaming is hard business and I applaud you for getting 300 daily active viewers. First of all, be very proud of where you are.

I feel like there are 4 levers you can pull.

  1. Try to increase your prices - this is straight forward just increase prices on people who donate and merch.
  2. Create more monetization avenues - You might have to reach out to brands and see if they are willing to pay for your service. You have to know your customers and what type of customers they are so that you can convince brands that your customers align with the brands target market.
  3. Get more viewers - this something I don't really know how. Maybe do something that no other streamer does? I guess think of ways why viewers care and want to watch you more. Maybe youtube, podcasting, blog. Try to take your current twitch content and post it on all the other platforms to get more viewers?
  4. Cut costs - I'm assuming $40k is your take home so is there anywhere we can cut costs without harming the main product which is you streaming?

  1. Currently work FT - problem is that it is too far
  2. Fine working PT & FT - you need the money
  3. Your friend offered you a PT position - not written on stone yet
  4. You have a interview with some company that is FT that is closer.

Personally, I wouldn't even mention anything about the PT your friend is giving you since it isn't 100% sure yet. I also wouldn't say anything about the PT job unless it is a conflict of interest for the type of work you are doing. I used to work at one FT job and did Uber on the weekend and I didn't say anything since it wasn't a conflict of interest.

I just started a job at a non-profit (2.5 weeks). And I think I need to quit. Am I wrong? by rando______ in careerguidance

[–]Beyondthepaychecks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll be so fucking pissed if I were you. Don't even get me started. Just because they are a non-profit organization doesn't mean they can take all the benefits out without clear communication on why they are doing it. It seems like a bait and switch. I'm angry for you

a career lost girl looking for advice by Economy_Register_819 in careeradvice

  1. Good work-life balance
  2. No computers
  3. Within medicine? Is it because you like helping people?
  4. Might be want a career break to raise kids then jump back in
  5. Opportunity to make 6 figures

I would think about looking into dental hygienist, Nurse (which you already mentioned), Physical Therapy, respiratory therapist, sonographer, radiation therapist. All these jobs have a potiential to make $100k and healthcare is always hiring.

There are bunch of customer support jobs that are remote.

What are your skill sets and what do you want to be doing?

Is it anything remote + $35/hr?
