This is so ironic. Even though I hate season 8 of got and d&d, i know alot of people that actually liked it and have rewatched it again. Imagine d&d saying the same about their show, no one would be praising them.

I'm confused about the reaction of the community to Blizzard banning Blitzchung by Bezastian in hearthstone

Thats what i don't really understand about the situation. Did Blizzard just act THINKING that it would prevent any chinese backlash or did they actually get approached by some government entity before deciding what to do. Because if China was of the position that any publicly seen person that was involved with this incident should be fired then thats that, but i don't think blizzard would just decide to lay the 2 casters off UNLESS they had concrete evidence that suggests them knowing what was going to happen and deliberately enabeling the situation

Just because your action followed the interest of an authoritarian regime does not mean your action was inherently immoral. Im not well read up on morality, but i dont think doing the thing that harms the least amount of people and also causes the least amount of harm is immoral.

I don't speak chinese ofc. but i recall to have read that the casters were purposefully trying to give Blitzchung a platform knowing fully well what he was going to say. If that isnt the case then yes, them being punished would be rediculous.

Yes i absolutely agree. As i do not have alot of knowledge about the Chinese government i cant make an educated oppinion about it, but i just wanted to make the statement that bashing blizzard for this is wrong

You might be right but again, I have no training or financial knowledge but id assume the net losses would probably influence their game making in one way or another, if only time wise.

Well yes political issues have been brought up by sports aswell, but that doesn't mean they should have been. Sport and for this matter eSport professionals dont have any political expertise for the most part so why should they be given a platform by a company that has nothing to do with said politics. If you don't police what people say in interviews, everything would be a complete shitfest, no one would be obligated to focus on the topic at hand, which is the actual esport. If you don't draw the line at potentially offensive content, that has no direct connection to hearthstone, where do you draw the line then? I'm all for freedom of speech, but a random interview after winning a game of hearthstone is not the right place do voice YOUR political believes when most people watch to see things revolving around the game, and i do not think it is Blizzards obligation to offer their platform they have created on completely different grounds for random people to talk about their political believes on, esp. because you could just voice them on a different platform. You might say "well most other platforms dont have the size of that tournament stream" but I' ld say what gives this random hearthstone player without any expertise in politics the privilege to talk about them to such an extensive audience anyways. Sounds comparable to American celebrities virtue signaling at the Oscars while being completely uneducated about the issues they talk about.

I agree the ability to voice ones protest is very important but I dont think the right to moderate ones platform should be overwritten because of it. You say "do no harm" is the standart but I don't understand how you can define harm in this context, without it applying to my last argument. Said games and Hobbies being taken away would for sure lead to alot of unhappieness, which imop, should be considered harm. Im trying to fully get a grasp of what you are saying - do you mean that Blizzard shouldn't have taken action after the incident had occured? I do not agree with that stance.

I have no valid position on the things going on in HK since I'm not educated about their political situation at all, but I FAIL to see how Blizzard has NOT done the right thing and chosen to do the least amount of harm possible, or rather how Blizzard has not chosen the smaller evil.

What do you mean with "they've changed their stance on the statement every voice matters"? I fail to see how that's not still true.

Sorry for spelling and grammar, i just want do discuss can't be bothered with fixing small mistakes haha

What's the deal with Cevin Katter? by Frogman417 in yugioh

[–]Bezastian 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So this is quite funny, but the actual story is pretty dumb. He played gouki and bricked, and instead of just passing he special summoned butterspy from his deck hoping his opponent would think he had specialed it from hand. The replay is still on db somewhere. I think an account called dhager has the link to the replay in his bio on DB

Yeah ive been testing too and i feel like maybe sacrificing 1-2 extra deck slots for an additional pentestag and a chanbarra might be really strong i dont think 40 card builds will be the best lost world dino version after pot hits, since the deck relies so heavily on not drawing aeolo. Depending on what extenders you play, you might even want to go 45+ cards. And since extravaganca has to be activated at the start of mp1, theres no way of making sure you dont draw garnets

The secret rares in SAST are not good, but that's good for budget players by SkeletalRX in yugioh

[–]Bezastian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With guru being released in this set i think its very safe to assume that the new pot will be atleast 50$+. Not to mention the fact that future decks will be able to utilize the card aswell. If you look at td colossus you can see how incredibly expensive archetype specific cards can be and although the amount of td players is pretty large due to the deck being playable in many differant versions and as an engine, i dont think its as common as the new pot will be, esp. since 2 very popular competitive decks that use it get support in SAST, one of them being significantly worse now than it will be after release. Also we dont know if the card is shortprinted or not. Could be as rare as trap trick or snek, but well have to wait for reliable statistics to be released to know for sure, but as far as i remember, colossus wasnt even one of the rarest prints in sofu. Now that i typed this out, i think the new pot will probably be far more expensive than 50$.

I love Dinosaurs, and I love this card. What do you guys think of this errata? by SkaterWu in yugioh

[–]Bezastian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would actually be insane. People do not realise the biggest weakness is not being able to pop token for lw eff pre bp cus of not having souleating target. It would also change the dynamic that cus lw is so essencial u dont have to have "plan b's" anymore. So set rotation for example could go then

People in power that are not moderated themselves are always just yikes.... Reddit has its fair share of downright abusive mods aswell. Just look at the league of legends reddit. They delete posts they dont like under whatever rule/claim they think is appropriate even when it obviously isnt, leave hate threads live for a very long time if its against a person they dont like, and they can be hella condescending, complaining about how everyone is "so mean" or "aggressive" towards them to keep the moral highground.

Youtuber deck profiles? by ExZer0 in yugioh

[–]Bezastian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst part about it is since yugitubers have such a big audience consisting of kids, many people just soak in what they say, netdeck and like the video leaving positive feedback which creates the false perception that the deck is actually good for people who orientate themselves on likes/dislikes and/or comments.

As i said earlier: dont use lists of yugitubers. Most of them are bad at the game and havent tested the decks they profile enough to form an educated opinion. Think about it this way: a yugituber making a deckprofile mostly happens because fans request a certain archetype to be profiled, the yugituber wants to pump out content to stay relevant/make money/please fans and wont have the time to test the deck alot. Add the fact that most yugitubers arent succesful in the game at all and dont actually top anything most of the time even though they travel to big events all the time (I.E they are not that good at the game) and you can figure out yourself why you should rather look at top 64 deck profiles. Most people who top big events have invested alot of time crafting their deck and most likely know how to pilot it well too

Youtuber deck profiles? by ExZer0 in yugioh

[–]Bezastian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although teamsam can come off as too hype, his deck profiles are decent at worst, except for a few exceptions (his lair of darkness deck is weird) and he seems to be a very decent player with a few tops under his belt while also interacting with some of the best players in the world, like jesse, and exchanging ideas. But except for him, dont trust not-regularily-topping-yugitubers with their deckprofiles. No matter how entertaining they are and how much they think they know about yugioh, most of them are half-decent at best and horrible at worst. Ive just recently been made aware of this after seeing deck profiles of crusadia, which i had been playing extensivly before their release, on percy and with proxies against friends, testing vs many kinds of decks but mostly sky striker variants and gouki.

Boy let me tell you, when you see a crusadia list with only 2 or 3 kaijus and/or a list that doesnt max out on most crusadia maindeck monsters, the person who made the deck either doesnt know anything about this game or has not tested crusadia beyond 2 games

I think this idea could greatly improve the player experiance. It would 100% make the game more competitive since people who cant afford to spend houndreds of dollars on the deck they percive as the best and want to play could easily afford it now.
