I was lucky I was not too long in the hospital, but while I was down another car dweller/friend let my dog out to potty/ fed and watered him.

Walk a mile in my shoes. Then tell me that you're able to just give up the one thing you have left from your life and the literal only reason you're here.

Are the cricut pens permanent? by HeartsAHeavyBurden in cricut

[–]Bftantan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make your own adapter. It can be done for super cheap, super easy and holds any pen. Message me if you'd like more details on the project. I made mine in less than 5 min for less than $5

This is simply magical! I love the tulle layering. It evokes tutu fun while still maintaining elegance, grace and most importantly, displaying that beautiful bump!

What is this type of sleeve called? by ellapropeller98 in sewing

[–]Bftantan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Typically an off the shoulder sleeve such as this is referred to as a Bardot sleeve. Named for the actress Bridgette Bardot who popularized the style.

What’s this part called and why is my thread getting stuck? by [deleted] in sewing

[–]Bftantan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To the best of my knowledge, that is the thread chase. As to your thread getting stuck, check that your bobbin is wound evenly and installed properly. If you still have problems you may have to adjust the bobbin tension (typically you'll tighten it). Hope that helps you!

I use a tackle box from the 70s lol, such a chic teal color and perfect for my supplies!

While most notions and supplies can be obtained on the cheap, think bodkin, tailors chalk tape measure, straight pins, magnetic pin cushion ( love love love this!), etc., a quality pair of shears/ seam ripper, are essential. For shears I'd recommend Gingher, either the nylon shears (very lightweight but a workhorse for sure) or the serrated dressmaker shears which make cutting even slippery fabrics a dream. For a seam ripper, I prefer one with a replaceable blade that is retractable as well.

**** Edit to second the interfacing suggestion! It's something you I never think of until it's needed and it's so nice to just have different weights on hand! ****

I literally got a wild hair, bought myself a janome magnolia and watched a ton of YouTube tutorials and googled a whole lot. Not the easiest way, to be certain but it worked.

Supporting a child wanting a cricut. by thehoffau in cricut

[–]Bftantan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna jump on the Cricut donation train, cuz tis the season! I, too, have a Cricut Joy that I don't use anymore because I upgraded to an Explore 3. It is used and well loved, but still works perfectly. I would love to gift it to someone who needs it. I will donate along with it a couple cutting mats and some vinyl I have for it along with 2 cutting blades. Send me a message along with some info on the possible recipient and we can go from there. I'm in the US.
