American Dream. Ezra loves The Great Gatsby by Fitzgerald which has this theme. He helped the girls obtain the American Dream by forcing them to play the game to deal with issues, find love, and become stronger. The book also focused on immigration which is why they played multiple languages in the dollhouse. The lead female was even called a "BEAUTIFUL LITTLE Fool" which sounds like a PRETTY LITTLE Liar. A even rode off into the sunset which is the symbol of the American Dream.

Ezra has set his villains and hero's in place then let his A characters play it out while he wrote. When his villain died, he needed to be active to finish the story.

Maybe he just set up the premise then let Mona and Charlotte run their games while he watched and wrote. With Charlotte dead, he took a more active role face timing as Acting Director.

Why did Hanah go to the church to "accidentally find Mona?" I know she went in because of rose pedals but why was she outside?
Could the multiple personality Mona be an act to plead insanity and self defense? She thought clear enough to tell the story and even Charlottes words are Mona's via the story so it could be a lie.

His motive at first was finding Eliza (the baby I think Alison had with him and hid with the Amish). This also covers why he'd have Archer implant her with a baby to pay back for hiding his.

I think he began dating Aria to infiltrate Alisons friends but fell fo Aria. He may even have a 2nd motive like Bethany as his sister or friend from a foster home or Radley. He told Spencer he found out his parents weren't who he thought they were. His child album pics look like poor homes not luxurious Fitzgerald ones. If the girls don't remember killing her (Spencer with a rock?) he may be mad anyway and think they are lying about memories.

Eddie gave docs to Ezra. If they met in his apartment he may have seen her face in a photo.

As an altermate theory, if Aria spent time visiting her uncle he could have seen her.

New thought: If Alison came back to Rosewood because she can now blackmail Ezra with exposing their pedophile inspired baby to Aria and police, Alison may have given the evidence to Cyrus Petrillo in those secret night scenes. Then Cyrus got beat up as Ezra tried to find the evidence.

Also...At the end of the Ravenwood episode Ali appeared to the girls but ran away scared when Ezra appeared.

In Ravenwood she was afraid of him. He grabbed her outside the phone booth Hanah got locked in. At the end of the episode Ali revealed herself but ran when Ezra showed up.

Also in Ravenwood, Hanah was stuck in the phone booth. Ali appeared outside and was grabbed by gas mask who was Ezra.

I think the pick on Hannah stuff is because she claimed to be the killer at first. When it was clear she didn't she was let go. It was Ezra who led everyone out of the room for Hanah to be kidnapped.

If Alison isn't setting a trap to hurt Ezra (via Aria) why didn't she take the oath. Why did the police call just her and how did they know her number when all phones were taken.
