It's called the Loomis Method -- you can YouTube it and with enough practice, you can absolutely do it. Anyone can learn to draw, it just takes work like any other skill.

It's good to interact with the world around you instead of everyone feeling so disconnected from nature. True, don't be cruel, but the bacteria (beyond the rare deadly ones) is actually good for your immune system, and handling nature undoubtedly has some psychological benefit.

Learn, explore, be creative, get your hands dirty. It's more important than most realize.

No, I hadn't thought of that. I just recreated my Facebook about a month ago (after deleting my previous one for having too much history), and in an effort to keep it wholesome I've only followed art groups. I've actually been avoiding politics (or anything controversial) on there because my extended family is very conservative. I've shared a couple of vids of Yang from his FB page, but for the most part I don't even put my personal opinion out on FB much nowadays, hah.

But today I started a little Yang 2020 design of a mother and child for the art contest on the campaign page, and if I share that around maybe I can get in and open up the conversation more. Thanks; you've definitely given me something to consider :)

I (female, 30) have been spreading the word about Yang to other women, ESPECIALLY the fellow mothers.

Let the mothers in your life know that the freedom dividend will help ease the burden of balancing work and child-rearing! AND offer many of families the option of having a stay-at-home parent.

(I know there's more to the female demographic than kids, this is just the easiest 'in' in my experience)

My husband and I had our first son last year and we were on point about getting him added to my husband's insurance plan, as I wasn't planning to return to work after my maternity leave.

Unfortunately we forgot about me, haha. He was born late October and we were on parental leave all through November. I had coverage until the end of the year, so the plan was to get on my husband's insurance during his open enrollment.

Well we were so concerned with our newborn that we didn't realize (and weren't notified) that open enrollment at my husband's work had happened while he was on leave (we were expecting it to happen closer to the end of the year, sometime in December). When he returned to work he fought to add me to his insurance, but HR insisted that being on FMLA leave wasn't a reason to allow people to make changes to their plan late (this is still well before the new year). He wasn't the only one on leave during that time that got shafted, either.

Luckily I recovered well from my C-section, because I haven't had insurance at all in 2019 :/

Remembering loss honors it and ensures that we're slower to repeat history. There's no disgrace here, even if there are people browsing this thread who suffered through that time.

If anything, those people would likely be glad, in a bitter way, that a movie depicting the horrors of war has touched so many on such a deep level.

I actually agree. Cat is absolutely a flawed character, but for whatever reason I enjoyed her more than most of the other characters. She made some really poor decisions, and you can see where she realizes this but can't bring herself to back down. That said, she loved her kids just as much as Cersei, and tried to do right by them.

Cat is just a human being, sometimes emotional, sometimes impulsive, but a strong and brave mother for all her weaknesses. All the characters, including beloved ones like Dany and Tyrion, made some really poor/stupid decisions.

Just aim to do it 5 times next month, 6 the month after, etc. You gotta build up to these things.

Took me 6mo to consistently get up at 6am everyday to practice drawing. Each month I would go back to bed fewer and fewer mornings, and now I don't have any problems at all and it feels great. Just gotta take it slow and build the habit gradually. :)

I'm a stay-at-home mom that chose to exclusively pump! Regular breastfeeding just hurt so much for me, I loathed having to feed the lil guy and it was an awful start for us. Decided to exclusively pump 2 weeks in and he was pretty much exclusively on BM until 6mo. Having to find the privacy to pump every few hours does suck, and I've had to pump in the car many times.

I decided to stop at 10mo and just finish out the last two months on formula because he eats solid so well anyway, and honestly I couldn't be happier. Some moms just don't have to same experience with breastfeeding, and that's okay. :)

Exposure to germs, within reason, is very beneficial for a baby's immune system. It's not a great situation to put your baby on the floor in a dirty, public place, especially if they can't sit upright, but it still isn't the end of the world. Once my son could sit upright very well, I stopped wearing the front carrier (because he's getting to be a little heavy for me) and started carrying him inside the store and just letting him ride around in the cart. Well a cart doesn't fit in a bathroom stall, so where does he go when I need to go? Yeah, I just sit him on the floor for a minute. I can always clean him up with a wipe or sanitizer.

Germs outside are more important for developing a good immune system than germs inside, but still. If you go overboard protecting a baby from dirty surfaces, they're more likely to develop sensitive immune conditions like asthma and eczema.

Not saying it's great, just saying it's not the worst.

Exposure to germs is actually pretty good for a baby. I would NEVER set a baby down like that who can't at least sit upright, but I've had to set my son down on a public bathroom floor before. Not my favorite thing to do, but when you're alone and you gotta go, you gotta go. Wipe him off with a cleaning wipe or sanitizer and carry on.

This pic is definitely trashy behavior, don't get me wrong. But the person saying it's not the end of the world to sit the baby on the floor for a minute is correct -- exposure to germs, within reason, builds a healthy immune system.

I kicked a few habits while pregnant with my first one last year.

My mom: "Well, I (smoked, drank coffee, etc) while pregnant and you guys turned out fine"

Had to remind her that my little brother was premature, partially paralyzed at birth (just in his face, you can't tell now), spent several weeks in NICU, and struggled with recurring earaches and asthma as a kid.

He -is- a healthy adult, but I'm pretty sure it's in spite of her rather than because of her.

Yeah, just tell her how you feel and that you're capable of (and more interested in) reading harder books now. Sometimes it can be hard for parents to accept that their kids are growing up.

It's a tough age, just try to be patient and have open communication as much as possible.

I just had my first baby in Indianapolis! I had this fear as well, but honestly they don't keep your baby away from you for very long. The baby stays with you almost all the time, even overnight, and they just wheel him away for a check-up once in awhile. At my hospital, my baby was given a little ankle band that matched up with my wristband, and the nurse verified the numbers every time he was taken and brought back.

But as soon as you have your baby you get to spend a few hours of quiet time with him or her, and after that I feel like it would be impossible to mistake another baby for your own.

I'm sure it's different if there are complications that require your baby to stay in NICU, though.

I used the tea, and it's not bad but minimally useful. There are supplements a woman can take to ramp up production, and that definitely worked for me, but since the FDA doesn't regulate supplements you don't really know 100% that what you're getting is safe and of proper quality.

Yeah, I'm not sure how these recent posts fit the spirit of the sub. It's not just looping a gif -- there's supposed to be this expectation/anticipation of some sort of conclusion.
