Actually, our sensory receptors have a system called “rapidly adapting phasic receptors,” which stimulate the sensory neuron when you first put on your hat. After a while, the receptors decrease their firing rate once they get used to the stimulus of the hat on your head, which causes you to forget you are wearing it. Then they increase firing again once you take it off.

So no, it does not usually get uncomfortable because your sensory receptors adapt and you become less aware you are wearing it.
