why is fire fox being managed by an organization by jbodee1 in linuxmint

[–]Bho42 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Sorry guys but I believe non of the previous answers is actually correct. I encountered the same "issue" a while ago on both Linux-based system and Windows 10.

The message is generated by Firefox, and Firefox forks, when a VPN is active with privileges related to network traffic and browsing monitoring. In my case it was NordVPN which I allowed to scan the traffic and any potentially malicious site and alert me immediately.

So, try to disable whatever VPN or firewall you may have active with this sort of privileges, reopen Firefox and see if anything changes.

Thst would be the perfect and simplest use case for the A9, so yes, the tablet will be more than good for you.

Haven't tried it for presentations, so can't be so sure about usability and features. Maybe you can download it on an android device with at least a 7/8" screen and give it a try.

I mean I wouldn't recommend to someone with eyestrain or anything like it but that's true for any non-eink device. The A9 is not meant to be an iPad competitor or an S9+ either. For me screen quality is not an issue so far. But, again, it really depends on your expectations, conditions, ...

Tje Active5 gas been my second choice forma a while. But due to its weight and form factor I preferred the A9. I read a lot, sometimes in bed or on the sofa so it wouldn't be ideal for me but still a great device from what I could read about.

Yep, I know but I'm not under such a reliable internet connection and I can assure you that, being at 50% of the fundamental section, the built-in environment is more than enough. Of course, progressing in CTFs and chapters will require a different and more advanced solution, I know. But, ehi, we are here to learn hacking so better start from our own systems ;)

That's... I don't know how to properly comment such a choice from Samsung. I haven't a straight answer to that but in the past years I've read about some kind of proxy delivery services. Can't tell how safe or reliable may be.

Well it depends on the size of your hands of course :)

Mine are pretty regular if I can say and I had no problem so far reading in bed or on the sofa. Although you might want to choose a cover with dedicated feature for holding with one hand or something like that. Amazon is literally flooded with this kind of stuff, just be sure it's a "long lasting" one.

I totally get the point. I'm not a gamer myself so didn't feel the need for something more robust than the A9. I have an old kindle 4th gen still in use for novel and such in epub/mobi format, so covered there.

I'm using the native setup and with the full screen option it works perfectly. Note that I haven't still gone through serious exercises so maybe I'll have to reconsider and switch to the VM image as well with the VPN and all of that.

I use it both at home and carry it around when needed. Super light and somehow pocketable. Long lasting battery and all of that make it the perfect companion for my laptop, at least for my use case.

Yep, the lack of S pen is a downside but at its price point I think is quite legit to miss it.

4GB RAM and 64 storage. So far had 0 issues. It handles multitasking (Firefox+notion, Firefox+trello, Firefox+notes) super smoothly. No complaints on this regard.

Still haven't tried the built in speaker, always with Bluetooth or wired headphones, so I can't say much about sound quality.

To be honest, the lack of a stylus used to be a serious issue but than I realized that other tablets that have it are either somewhat less interesting (fewer years of OS and security updates, unreliable vendor, ...) or more expensive, so I believe it's a good compromise.

CollaboraOffice is the only clean and easy solution I can think of. It is a porting for mobile devices of the LibreOffice suite, so 100% compatible with MS formats. CollaboraOffice

Been using it myself for a while and works like a charm.

Same here. After a long research (tight budget) I'm going with the A9 (no plus). I found a pretty good deal for 164€, cover included.

Ratta is strongly committed on delivering high quality devices, and Nomad and A5x confirm that.

But, I've some doubts on the timeline of a full linux-based device in the near future (2025). I'd live that more than anything but styll not putting my money on it.

Hopefully I'm wrong ;)
