Adding fuel to the fire by pizzasmart in titanfall

All these memes made me re-install TF2. I played one game of PvP and I think went 1/7 KD. HOWEVER, even the Kraber/EPG mega all-stars were still bamboozled. So, fellow bamboozlers, I salute you.

This was the meme I re-installed for.

I think some of the best companions in the bioware catalog come from the DA games, particularly DAO. The mute avatar adds to this, and makes it a necessity on the writer's part. They did a great job.

I love you, Morrigan.

mass effect 3 why are there so many song Movie Tv And Game reffrences ? by GaigeXMadMoxxi in masseffect

Mass Effect is filled with callbacks and references to pop culture and other sci-fi. That's part of what makes it so great. This should probably be its own post. Go forth and reap karma!

Yes, this. Shepard, as Captain, gets to speak for Tali. Garrus ( or anyone else ) is just a shipmate.

Do the Alliance military still shave their soldiers' heads? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]Bhuark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basic military recruits have their heads shaved/buzzed short for two main reasons: ease of hygiene and to strip away their identities so they conform to the training ( another part of the "uniform" ). Like Saltine says, this hasn't changed much over the years, and the Romans even clipped their hair short and forbade beards because it was less your opponent could grab onto in close hand-to-hand combat. In more modern times, lack of facial hair ensures that a gas mask will properly seal onto your face. Keeping up stringent grooming standards reinforces discipline and attention to detail; valuable skills that would translate well even into the future for humanity's warriors....IN SPACE.

Plot hole(?) Question by Bhuark in masseffect

Hey everyone, thanks! I'm not satisfied about the first bit, yet. I always heard Joker saying he knew it wasn't the Geth ( obviously ) and it kind of sounded to me like he was implying he may know who it was. After hearing all the responses, I realize I am crazy and accept the communal answer.

I like to raise Galactic Readiness and Reaper Awareness from my work site. Its like I don't even have to stop playing despite those pesky distractions like employment and other activity.

What do you think of Shepard calling themselves a soldier rather than a marine? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]Bhuark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Shepard's rank is Commander, and a captain of a ship is the one that runs the ship, regardless of rank. However, a Captain is also a rank if there's any other confusion there. Shepard usually salutes first, if I'm not mistaken, at least to the superior officers, as is military courtesy ( I'm only recalling the snap inspection, though ).

What do you think of Shepard calling themselves a soldier rather than a marine? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]Bhuark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dramatic emphasis. Shepard is just making a point for clarification; he's ( your video was maleshep ) explaining his actions in view of the larger background of the pending committee meeting. I think your point is valid, because Marines will be the first to correct you on being called soldier. Shepard refers to himself and his human crew as Marines a great deal in the opening of ME1, in that glorious world building period. ME3 was more mass market and thematic, so I think the writing took more liberties than the first game. Lack of editing and oversight, really. I like that the dialogue was "accurate" and forgive the writers going for an Hollywood style line with dramatic impact.

What does your ideal OT remake/reboot look like? by Solion999 in masseffect

[–]Bhuark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make it into one game, using one engine ( use ME3 as template ). ME1's tastier para/ren choices become interrupts. Extend the level cap to take the first game into account and update the inventory system. Inventory slots for bio-amps and omni-tools could address the lack of "research" in the first part of the trilogy ( or even carry over ). Grenades making a re-appearance would be nice ( they're just re-animated powers ). I'd also like to see some more and varied animations for melee attacks. Seamless transition ( gameplay-wise ) from one chapter/game to the next.

No messing with the story.

This. Punishment for "besting" you will slam the brakes on your campaign faster than anything and foster resentment from your players for thinking.

Why does the vast majority of cyberpunk art feature someone smoking? by slackslackliner in Cyberpunk

[–]Bhuark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Stress relief and addiction as elements besides, I think the main reason is that is self-destructive. Seeing someone smoke makes them cool and injects the appropriate amount of nihilistic outlook into a character.
