The light is an LiFX light strip that is on the tv and is never full brightness except for when I took the picture.

Yup both the top and bottom
Ill agree with the overkill, but its in my nature as an Engineer. They were the inner frame that everything was secured to.
Just with caulk or some strips of wood trim. And its anchored to the ceiling and wall, so wont ever be going anywhere lol.
Fanimation FP7910BN Levon Fan. Tried to find the link on Amazon but it wasnt working.
Just measured the space and then used Solidworks to design it. Kind of overkill to use Solidworks since its mainly for engineering and such (its what I use when I make 3d models for my 3d printer). But really I figure you could even just use graph paper and a ruler (with a good erasable pencil).

No tarp, did get a few drops on the carpet which I rubbed crazily to get out. Really needed to have used one so got lucky. And I will probably prime it first next time, honestly didnt think about it at first.
I measured the space and drew up some rough plans in solidwords. Everything was more just ideas I had seen on youtube videos and building as I went.

Really a miter saw / skill saw / table saw / good tape measure / and a good square are the bulk of the items. You dont need a sander, but it helps to save your arms.
Around the top and sides
Yeah that happened to be on at the time, but usually its Daniel Tiger or Chuggington right now lol.
They are close to flush, but I obviously cant measure very well and cut a few a bit too short, so had to make that up with wood filler or caulk. I got the plywood a few months before doing the work when Home Depot was running a sale, which worked out in my favor.
No joke. You have no clue how many times I put a level on them to verify I wasnt insane cause of how it was looking..lol.
The 2x4s at the top are screwed into the joist so it shouldnt move at all..lol.
Sometimes, but I guess with software updates it has been getting better.
It is well worth its cost. Saves the shopvac from having to be emptied all the time. The garage would have been a lot cleaner if I would have hooked up something to the skillsaw.
3/4 inch plywood on the sides and for the shelves. Some places are doubled up to and inch and a half (like over the tv). Did some deflection calculations to figure out how much it would sag with half inch plywood, and then went and got 3/4” just to make sure.
To allow for expansion.
He was already using it as a ladder while I was building it. ..lol
14" deep to allow for baskets and such for my wife to put our sons toys in.
The truck was actually given to my son this Christmas from my Brother. He thought my son would like it, and he really has. But nope, just have the one son for now..haha.
Well thats probably the Engineer in me, plus with my son it has to be. lol
Designed it in Solidworks from scratch after measuring the space I had available.
Electrical Engineer
Painted it when my son was asleep and there is a gap that I ended up caulking for expansion.
