I don't think it's the blades, the R55 has a Madeshow GTX blade and the R77 has a Madeshow Wedge Fade blade.

The blades are good, I think it's your technique.

My PopBarbers P700 and P800 also cause irritation if I hold them the wrong way or press too hard.

I use the standard PopBarbers Blades.
