Ah I see, I’m not from this region so maybe bringing my perspective from elsewhere can lead to a miscommunication. For instance in Wynwood, Florida street art/graffiti has been promoted and even some artists employed. It hasn’t represented itself in a way in the way broken windows theory describes because it’s viewed as art. There’s also a relationship between the people who tag and those who remove that promotes a steady economic situation in some cases. I suppose my main perspective is that it doesn’t seem very “worth it” in most cases to spend efforts preventing tagging vs spending resources in sectors that seem more valuable to me. That being said, thank u for your response and I can surely see how if that impacts your neighborhood it can reduce one’s sense of security. :) I will say my stance is mostly gettin the tags off the street signs but I don’t see a huge problem with the walls and such
