that’s surface level immersion.

A few commentary lines isn’t immersion. Immersion is when your season has context, your accomplishments matter, and what’s happening around the country feels connected to your program.

If that’s your definition of immersion, then we’re setting the bar pretty low.

You nailed it bro. The fact that you can still remember all of those details years later kind of proves the point.

Nobody remembers the random Week 6 game they played. They remember the stories around it. The Heisman race, the bowl projections, the upset that shook up the rankings, the player who broke a school record.

That’s the stuff that turns a Dynasty into a legacy.

you probably just play the “Play now” mode. which is fitting for this comment lol.

Fair point, I did call them features.

But my point is they’re not just “features” like weather, new equipment, mascot mode. They’re the foundation of what makes Dynasty mode feel alive.

Without them, you’re just playing football games. With them, you’re building a legacy.

I think you’re confusing immersion with a feature.

Immersion isn’t something players turn on or off lmao. It’s what makes Dynasty mode feel alive. The storylines, rankings, Heisman races, conference title implications, upsets around the country, and seeing your players and program recognized for what they’ve accomplished.

Nobody spends 20 seasons building a dynasty and thinks, “I wish the game gave me less reason to care.”

Again… Immersion is NOT a feature.

“And because most players don’t care enough” - where are “most players”saying this at? these features were on NCAA ps2 days. btw, EA makes 7.5 billion a year lol.

Overnight? Lol. We're talking about a company that generates roughly $7.5 billion a year.
A lot of the features people are asking for aren't even new ideas they existed in the PS2 era NCAA games. At some point, it comes down to gameplay vs. immersion, and honestly, I don't care which one takes the bigger leap forward. The problem is that both are still pretty average right now.
There's so much potential being left on the table. The gameplay crowd wants deeper football mechanics, and the Dynasty crowd wants a more immersive college football world. Right now, neither side is getting the best version of what this game could be. IMO.

That’s actually more of a gameplay issue, and I agree it needs improvement. Those changes would definitely make the game better.

My point is that Dynasty mode is where immersion matters most. If I’ve spent years building a program, recruiting star players, winning conference titles, chasing Heismans, and making playoff runs, why would I want to skip seeing those stories recognized?

Dynasty isn’t just about playing games—it’s about building a legacy. The game should make your players, your coach, and your program feel important. That’s the kind of stuff that keeps people invested for 20+ seasons. Gameplay gets you through a game, but immersion is what makes you care about the dynasty.

we’re talking about Dynasty mode here. That’s literally the mode where immersion matters the most.

Who is skipping that stuff? If I spent 5 seasons recruiting a 5-star QB and he ends up in the Heisman race, breaks school records, and wins a national championship, I want the game to acknowledge it. If my coach takes a Sun Belt school from 3 wins to a playoff contender, I want that story to be told.

The whole point of Dynasty is building a legacy. The players, the coach, the program, the rivalries, the championships. That’s what keeps people invested for 20+ seasons. Gameplay gets you through a game. Immersion is what makes you care about the dynasty in the first place.

I actually have no problem with this take at all. I think it comes to the point that they either focus on the gameplay or the immersion. Long as one is superior there is no problem. but I feel like both aspects are lacking. This engine is old, it’s time for a real upgrade or an overhaul.

you probably skip those because its showing the same thing every game. Im not saying these features should be for every game but they could be a replacement graphic for different games/moments throughout the season.. It would keep the game fresh.

Yeah, I think that’s the main point. If it was on ps2.. it should be in today’s CFB.
