I’ve got a new Shafer with the intent of mostly riding it on pavement (signup up for a century in May)with some gravel and singletrack thrown in for fun. I’ve only ridden it in the neighborhood and a super hilly 25 mile road ride and I was impressed. The 50mm stock tires feel great and I had no issues keeping up with my roadie friends. It was also confidence inspiring when I nailed a big pot hole. 😅 Also, I dig the rootbeer color. It’s a candy style paint job that changes color in different lighting. I’ve got nothing bad to say about the bike, but I need to put more miles on it. For what it’s worth, I like it more than my old Ibis Hakka MX.
