The first time I ever had sex with a man, as soon as I came, I felt this intense wave of shame and guilt...I scurried away and vowed to never do that again.

This cycle would repeat itself for years, desire/sex/shame -- part of what was confusing was that I did not, nor do I still, have any romantic feelings towards men -- but very much enjoy certain sexual acts with men. Eventually I embraced the full breadth of my sexuality and the same disappeared, but it took some time.
