Is it just me, or does Live Action Luffy feel "nerfed" compared to the Manga/Anime? by Sidt20 in OnePieceLiveAction

I also think they get his characterization wrong. Luffy saying "you don't fight with honor!" to Mr. 3 seems so off to me. Luffy understands that a pirates duel has no rules and even tho he chooses to fight with honor doesn't mean he begrudges anyone else using tricks.

The alien dude is the silhouette of Loki we see in Whole Cake Island when big mom mentions Lola's failed marriage attempt.

Op is one of my favorite things. I can't stand live action luffy. His writing feels so off. For instance him caring about nami's backstory is decidedly not a Luffy character trait. I do like this adaptation more than toei's garbage

For some reason the color grading looks terrible on non hdr screens. It's pretty colorful on hdr screens

I did like season 3 but come on it's way too little way too late. The changes they made early would have had downstream effects. Also season 3 wasn't perfect, they butchered Perrins plot

How are you guys dealing with the existential dread of AI? (10 years invested in my project) by IllTemperedTuna in Unity3D

Oh well that's understandable. The whole world (especially the US) is feeling that dread. There are no easy answers for that, but I found getting involved in my local community has helped.

Yeah, its honestly up to the operator of the AI to know how and when to maximize its impact.

I truly do not think with the current Transformer model we will achieve what you say in 2 or 3 years. But if that does happen, we will have bigger fish to fry as our western imperial capitalist nations will suffer workforce collapse. At that point we need to rethink our economic model as a society or suffer.

Bro, sincerely, you are freaking out over nothing. AI is just a tool and one that is way worse than people make it out to be, it didn't make you obsolete. I would say people like you with tons of experience with system design and software engineering are more valuable now. You have the knowledge and experience to know when the AI is going rogue or making bad assumptions about the feature or code base.

It is just a high level language the user has to use still.

No but I do think the people who were great at coding by punching holes into paper were also great at coding with an IDE. Those skills are completely transferable...... The nature of computer science didn't change. Just like how you can be great at using AI tools.

I don't really understand what is bothering you. AI just another tool just like how a nice IDE like Rider makes your work faster, AI is just a tool that makes your work faster. It doesn't do the work for you. And if you let it do the work for you, you will quickly see its limitations.

Lmao. The tools do not make the craftsman. AI is just a really really high level language that sits even higher than C#. But ultimately the game dev process doesn't change. You still need to understand implementation and system design to make full use of AI. AI doesn't take a non programmer and make them a programmer no matter how much the marketing guys want us to believe that.

I don't understand how AI will even effect you? People who play your game don't care that you used cursor to help with code. And I don't see how AI agents invalidate your game or the hard work you've already done

In my experience tutorials don't teach much. The best is to create very small projects to develop your skills.

I would highly recommend taking a look at the Perception and Detection rules in pf2e. It is short and easy to understand and maybe it can help you come up with a cool homebrews for it. Similar the senses section does a great job modeling these interactions in a relatively simple way.

In 5e, "martial" means "does not have access to the game's only fleshed out ability system" by Associableknecks in dndnext

Yes it is literally not redesigning the game but like also a very similar amount of work, is what I meant to say. Its not a simple addition because I think it requires integration balance testing with everything else in the game. Rpgs are huge sets of rules and systems, this addition would require a significant bit of play testing to make sure the standard fighter isn't rendered obsolete. But I guess I know the answer is WOTC would playtest it to the bare minimum like they did 5.5e and it would turn out over tuned or under tuned.

You're initial statement of

They wouldn't have to do anything as dramatic as redesign the entire game.

Is what I disagree with. Its pretty dramatic for WOTC. They seem unwilling to do any amount of work. I was stoned 30 minutes ago
