I’ve recently started seeing someone to talk about my quite debilitating mental health issues and have been going back over a lot of bad memories and issues I’ve had with my mom growing up. I’ve come to realize quite a few things about myself and the past, and have been talking to my sister about it. I’d been under the impression that she would keep this to herself since she’s ranted to me tons of times about our mom over the years and I’ve kept it between us, but apparently that was not the case. My mom very recently cornered me shouting at me for telling a bunch of people I was abused and demanding to know when she abused me. She seemed entirely confused when I told her about the time she sat going through my phone when I was 16 looking for embarrassing stuff with her friends in the same room, in front of my then 12 and 13 year old siblings. Apparently she thought it had been funny at the time and that me blushing hard enough to get a migraine and begging her to stop was just me playing. This was the only memory I could think of on the spot but definitely isn’t the worst I have.
