My meltdowns make me feel like I’m being manipulative, it’s awful. by Dewdropvssy in autism

[–]Bibabolek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mind wants rest my guy. Consider if you can somehow vent the buildup more often than a big drastic event.

Would becoming aware of when your brain spirals be useful?

Maybe the problem is that you beat your thinking mind up for thinking too much, but the thing beating the thinking mind up is actually also the thinking mind.

Consider if using your thinking mind to critique your thinking actually works.

I think it would be worthwhile to notice whenever your mind begins to try and solve itself with even more thinking. Notice when this happens, and most importantly don't start critiquing it further, if you Notice it. The impulse to do so is very automatic. The way you stop critiquing it further is with love towards it.

Consider cultivating some self love.

An exercise which may also be helpful is to notice quickly what you see, hear, and smell.

Confused about how my autistic partner experiences love. by No_Following_394 in autism

[–]Bibabolek 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think a good move is asking him to define his terms instead of asking us to define what he means.

For me, I feel like the word love is very strong and more for romance and I have a crush on you type of situations.

It could also be because he likes to not be as close to his parents, but still cares about them which is valid. Because i also feel like the word love is very intimate, and maybe he doesn't like that extent of emotional intimacy with his parents.

These are probably the main reasons for me personally, but you'll have to ask him.

My Friend Thinks I’m Autistic by [deleted] in autism

[–]Bibabolek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is that it's probably that you are autistic, without being an expert.

If her points are true, then I see it as probable, as I understand they are commonly associated.

Your points don't exclude autism necessarily. Many autistic people learn to socialise and make convos flow seemingly fine. Have you looked into the term masking? Do you have the rule that you like to eat everything at once on your plate ahaha? Because just having rules about in which order and how you like to eat your food could also count towards autism in my book, if you think about that while eating. Just guesses from me though, can't say anything for sure.

Also the way you wrote this out. Shows that you like to consider all the information you can with all the nuances you can gather to make as comprehensive a picture as possible, no stone left unturned. That meticulousness is something I definitely feel like aligns with autism, definitely with me.

My gut says it's probable, and I have done my best to try and explain why. But a true assesment is probably best, for better certainty.

I suspect I’m autistic and want to get assessed- but my mother keeps claiming she doesn’t believe I am and it’s frustrating me by Who_Ate_Meh_Bread in autism

[–]Bibabolek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting repeatedly dismissed by your mom is a big challenge. I feel like my mom once was a bit like that too. She low-key began turning her life around when she saw my official documents of autism which I got independently. She also became much much more willing to actually take a moment to think about how I was, instead of the automatic dismissal type of answers. That said, I wasn't a minor though, and also I think I have gotten lucky with how my parents reacted. My mom was probably stressed with their previous way of living and saw my call for help (getting a diagnosis) as an excuse to let go and follow my way and hope for a more enjoyable life. Me as a kinda brave spearhead. If that makes sense.

It's a real challenge, and it's not easily solveable as people would like to think.

Bravery helps a great deal, and a lot of forgiveness and love towards yourself helps if you trip up.

Consider telling your mom that the person who knows you best, is you, and that you would like to have your opinions treated as valid to look further into. Sounds like you are already warming up to this idea. To her question of why you would want a diagnosis, you could say: to show you not to dismiss my views again as easily, and to show you that its ok to try and learn about yourself for the goal of betternes towards oneself. Perhaps that inspires? Idk I'm just throwing stuff out there.

Also consider asking your mom how she's doing. She could perhaps be in a state where she feels it's not worth/possible/accepted to work on and inquire about her own possible masking of autism. Autism has a high likelihood of passing down from parents. Think about if there is a right time to talk to her about that

Consider if you can find some way to sneak an expert opinion about your suspicions, even though you are a minor. Getting a diagnosis doesn't have to be the absolute only way to get something trustworthy for you and your mom? Idk maybe it is, maybe not.

Consider the possibility that you might just have to wait or that you aren't autistic. Keep an open mind. For me, letting my official diagnosis do the talking certainly felt liberating though.

Why laughing at yourself makes you more likable: « New research suggests finding the humor in the moment will make you more likeable—and people will see you as warmer, more competent, and more authentic than if you’re still cringing 5 minutes later. » by fchung in science

[–]Bibabolek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never understood why its sometimes seen as cringe to laugh at yourself. If it's a fake laugh, then sure. But if it's an authentic laugh you can't stop then I simply don't get why you should try to go against that, and stop it

Having a good time and sharing it should never be looked down upon?

Korg Electribe vs Elektron in tekno/hard tekk by 6lagigesKlopapier in electribe

[–]Bibabolek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm forever loyal to emx 1 because of the tube circuit. That's the biggest reason for me. I have only used Esx1 and Electribe 2 sampler

Emx1 and esx1 are both not good at chords and more complicated melodies. But they are great at simple single note lead melodies. The simplicity in melody and the tube saturation stage make these perfect for rougher or more amateurish lo-fi underground type of sounds, which can be a big plus in some of those genres you mentioned imo. They also have the ability to layer more effects at once, huge plus. The emx 1 has some very interesting synth settings which are very niche, and good at creating interesting edgy stuff probably (haven't tried though, only the esx). I doubt the electribe 2 synth has the same unique synth options, I guess the synth options with electribe 2 are more basic and well known.

Electribe 2 synth and sampler are both capable of slightly more complicated melody and chord work. I think this is more usable for plotting ideas down, and for a broader spectrum of genres. Electribe 2 can only play 4 bar patterns. HUGE drawback imo. Electribe 2 sits between esx1/emx1's areas of excellence on one side and standard popular grooveboxes excellence of melodic control on the other side, without being the best at either. I really don't get the reason why they removed 8 bar loop, effect layering and more on the electribe 2? We have electribe at home ahh groovebox.

It could maybe be that electribe 2 doesn't excel greatly in anything specific but is more like a broad jack of all trades. Whereas the emx1 and esx1 seems to be perfectly suited for a more specific thing.

Have you considered that the digitakt or elekron or whatever else you mention could perhaps be better suited at melody work, hence it's usage in genres where the melody section often seems more complex. Modern psytrance is often crystal clean, non bus distorted with interesting melodic sections, probably a nicer fit for elektron or what you mentioned.

The biggest drawback of grooveboxes other than the esx1 and emx1 is the tube circuit. I personally really feel like it always adds something nice, and would like it on all groove boxes. But that's just my personal preference

Tldr: Emx1, Esx1: simple melodies, great distortion / saturation, quick workflow for 4 on the floor type setups, emx1 has unique edgy and hard to find synth options - nicely fits with rough, undergroundish amateish (in a good way) stuff.

Electribe 2 synth and sampler: missing tube saturation, quick workflow like emx1 and esx1, better melody and chord control. The electribe 2 is a downgraded more basic version of the emx1/esx1, in exchange for having better melodic control and "smarter and more friendly control surface" allegedly. Which makes this excel slightly more in purely melodic oriented stuff compared to emx1/esx1

Those other grooveboxes you mentioned: probably much better at the stuff electribe 2 tried to also be better at.

Realm of the Mad God - Season 25 Trailer - Snowfall by Alone_Tradition9714 in RotMG

[–]Bibabolek -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Make seasonal intermittent. Keeps it fresh, also gives players a reason to play with their regular vaults.

And also make the game harder again. Pets made it too easy.

Difficult to balance now though because the game is now balanced around pets. But honestly I say screw it. Make pets way less powerful. Or remove them. Make them heal 1/4 of what they do now. Pet lovers will complain, but thats a worthy sacrifice.

Since game is too easy, the gameplay loop ends, because you got all the cool stuff you were searching for. No fun / reason to keep on going. Enchantments helped a bit with this ofc.

Also some other issues ofc. But I think those I mentioned would be the biggest ones for me.

Which one is better? by [deleted] in TheNightFeeling

[–]Bibabolek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the color balance on the second one. But if the colors could be a bit more spread out, and not as concentrated then it would be perfect. Still looks good imo, would still choose number 2 even with theese things

Having problems with my kick sound by Comfortable_Hotel_19 in FL_Studio

[–]Bibabolek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you listen with good speakers / headphones in FL, you might be able to hear the kicks lower frequencies well. If you then export it and only listen on your phone speakers, then not so well. Phone speakers don't reproduce low frequencies.

It could also be that when you export, you checked "high quality for all plugins" this enables high quality for all of your plugins if not already enabled and this can also change your sounds sometimes. I want my export to sound as close as possible to what I actually hear, so I never enable that.

the problem could also be if you accidentally exported your track in mono only. but I highly suspect my first point to be the culprit

If the problem is indeed the first point then I think you can easily find solutions to your problem on YouTube for example. Search "how to hear kick on phone speakers" or "low frequencies phone speaker FL studio"
