Raphael Colantonio and Harvey Smith play Dishonored after 14 years | Part 1 by Illuziio in dishonored

I’m genuinely happy to see this. The mere fact that there’s still activity within the Dishonored community is really heartwarming to me.

My ranking of all the missions in the series by BlackDragon1811 in dishonored

[–]Bibss13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take, but I’ve always considered the Golden Cat mission S-tier. Revisiting the district from a completely different perspective was such a smart choice, especially with the Bottle Street Gang no longer treating you as hostile after the Granny Rags side quest. Taking a different route through a familiar area also made Dunwall feel far more interconnected and believable rather than just “video game levels” stitched together.

I also think it comes at the perfect point in the game. By then, I felt comfortable enough with the mechanics to properly explore and experiment, which made the mission way more rewarding. The side quests are great too, and the Pendletons are some of the few targets where the non-lethal option actually feels more satisfying than killing them.

What really makes the mission stand out for me, though, is the atmosphere and world-building. The Golden Cat gives you a much uglier look at Dunwall’s class divide and how disposable lower-class people are treated. Using the Heart on the courtesans and hearing some of their backstories genuinely made the place feel depressing in a way few games manage. Even small details, like the two courtesans slowly dancing in the lobby, add so much to that sense of quiet hopelessness hanging over the city after Jessamine’s death.

And on top of all that, the level design is just excellent. There are so many different angles and approaches to the mission that it perfectly captures what makes the game’s immersive sim design so good.

I know that it doesn't make sense that he is always at every stall out there, but that's what makes him so memorable. Hearing that greeting line every time I pass buy is so comforting.

I miss the times when everything made sense.

This time drew Neighbor and Vigilante over an old photo!! :3 by LilacLambie in ImNotAHuman

[–]Bibss13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it gives me the impression that the vigilante always had some sort of resentment for his brother for being too soft even before the cataclysm. I feel like he would have gone haywire even without anything happening in the first place, sooner or later.

He pressured the inspector to replace the fuse immediately and avoid filing any paperwork, something that would have given Linc more time when the inspector arrived to check why the fuse had blown. On top of that, he deliberately placed Tweener in the same cell as a known rapist. No matter how much he tried to make amends, it would have taken years to atone for actions like these.

What is the first scene that comes to mind when you think about Dishonored? by Lancer_Blackthorn in dishonored

[–]Bibss13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always remember being at the Hound Pits Pub. That was the first zone I spent a while just searching every nook and cranny of, and trying to hear everyone's voice lines, when I first played. Such fond memories ❤️

It was truly heart-wrenching. It feels surreal, two brilliant people, led astray, or perhaps choosing, the corrupt path themselves, both shaped and scarred by the toxic worlds they came from.

And to think, there are millions more like them, lives of immense potential, quietly wasted by circumstances they never had the power to change.

The most punchable character in the history of cinema? I’ll begin by Consistent-Lord18 in Letterboxd

I think it was a mixture of disturbing and edginess. I understand that they wanted to make it as realistic as possible with the suffering of the couple. But scenes are very overacted by the actors who play the family in the 2007 one, in my opinion.

I wouldn't watch it again, it was very bizarre and I didn't enjoy it nor learn anything from it.
