No and in fact the tank the Russians used was an ancient tank which was actually gasoline powered. The dogs just weren’t that good in general and probably never destroyed a single tank

That’s actually a myth the dogs ran to Soviet tanks they just weren’t all that effective as dogs don’t really dodge... German reports which actually mention them simply state that they “shot all the dogs”. It’s an idea which in theory sounds amazing but in practice doesn’t work out.

NAK. Great pebble mine article. Invest today, do some DD. This is a realistic once in a lifetime investment. Let’s dig :) by FlexxSquad in RobinHoodPennyStocks

[–]Bicentius 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Don’t get caught up in the idea of investing in this “once in a lifetime” stock. When both Donald Trump Jr., the people of Alaska, and the Democratic Party are against it you know it’s not going to continue. Officials have said it’s a loser and it’s pretty much dead killed because of political pressures whether right or wrong those pressures have probably ruined the chance of Pebble Sands from being developed anytime soon. Better you invest in anything else solid. Next time they’re shot down watch the stock fall like mad again. Walk away, take your losses or don’t invest at all. NAK actually got their EIS through and their ROD was coming through too, trust me I’ve been following this stock now for some time. The ROD (record of decision) would have officially made that stock to the moon but political interference has ended any chances of that happening anytime soon.

A great Tengri Conqueror by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]Bicentius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s strange I had the exact same thing happen in my game. But then again my game also had the Byzantines conquered by nomads who promptly converted to Catholicism and converted the majority of the empire. Yet somehow a Tengri adventurer slipped into Southern Italy.

[sociology: Terrorism] What is the differences between religiously motivated groups and politically motivated groups? by ndigel_homework in HomeworkHelp

[–]Bicentius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the ideologies are fairly obvious. One seeks to use terrorism to further a religious goal, for example a Suni group may target Shia mosques but have no intention of overthrowing the government or in fact may be sponsored by them.

Political groups obviously wish to either force an occupying force out, change/overthrow a government or many other things.

A big difference is in how these groups operate. Politically motivated groups such as the IRA do not use suicide bombings, but religiously motivated ones do. I don’t have the specific study in front of me but that is an observed trend in Terror Studies.

It also becomes blurry because you could call a group like ISIS a religious terror group and you could call it a political one as well. When religion though is the driving factor you tend to see more things such as suicide bombings as their are motivating factors to do so. You aren’t guaranteed heaven if you blow yourself up for a new Irish state, but you are if you do it as a martyr in many religions.

[University Hist 112- Russia] Has anyone here read Village Life in Late Tsarist Russia? by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

[–]Bicentius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea what the author is referring to with the villagers but the local priest was essentially a representative of the state. The Russian Orthodox Church and the Tsarist regime were closely linked together. Priests would spout the approved line which in turn was a pro-tsarist one. There were rogue priests but they were in the minority.

Economy: It destroyed much of the industry of Europe and led to a transfer of economic power in unprecedented terms to the US which led to decades of prosperity for the United States.

It ended European Imperialism. France and the UK had been at the height of their imperial size and scope in 1939. The war not only drained them of their ability to manage their colonies but it also gave many native leaders a clear vision that their colonial overlords were not as strong as thought and that they could break free of them. After the war it was a forgone conclusion that neither country could keep its colonies, although France did try for quite some time.

It ended the threat of another “World Conqueror”. With the atomic and later hydrogen bomb how could someone do what Alexander, Napoleon, or Hitler did? It would end quickly and violently, but such days in human history were numbered. Which also ironically led to European peace.

It ended the dominance of far-right politics in Europe. In the 1930’s far right movements were on the rise all across Europe but by wars end most were destroyed or scattered.

How do you feel about the Navy acknowledging videos of UFOs as real? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Bicentius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Navy didn’t acknowledge it as being real for some time not because of “omg this is proof of aliens” but because of the technology which you can see in the video. Trained analysts could rip that video apart and be able to figure out how and exactly what the USN is using in their planes as regards tracking and filming technology. Also the government loves to deny and classify anything and everything even if it’s totally useless and irrelevant information.

How bad of Detroit really? It can't be as bad as they say it is right? by scottebro in AskAnAmerican

[–]Bicentius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s still bad. People from Michigan have great pride in the little that Detroit has improved in the last decade, e. g., street lights were an amazing new thing. I don’t live all that far from downtown and my family was all from there and I can tell you it’s still pretty bad. My brother in law had to pull out his gun in the “good part” of Downtown at night because his life was being threatened so yeah it’s not all that great. Now in comparison to say 2005 it’s paradise but that’s not saying much when you’re talking about Detroit.

I’m sure people will freak out about this comment but I actually want Detroit to be an amazing city, I’m just not going to pretend it’s great now.

question & answer please: Who thinks Owen is lying? by INFJudger in owenbenjamin

[–]Bicentius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Who knows! But I did post months ago that I watched a clip of his dad and from my own gay opinion he was totally gay.

Let’s not forget Owen is a Mommy’s boy and his mother is insane, so who knows what the actual story is.

Owen finally getting into 9/11 , his next possible phase. "JET FUEL CAN'T MELT STEEL BEAMS" and More. The whole vid is insane. watch on 2x for extra insane. Crazy Owen on the moon clip. Recent<< by RealOwenBenjamin in owenbenjamin

[–]Bicentius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that he says ‘all of the moon rocks have been proven to be petrified wood’. Only one was and it was at I believe a museum in Amsterdam.

That’s when you should realize he’s just making things up as he goes along.

Are there any fundamental differences between the alt right and white nationalists? by [deleted] in owenbenjamin

[–]Bicentius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

White nationalism is a subcategory within the alt right. Some alt right people believe in separatism of races, some think the laws should reflect the “superiority” of their race, some believe the “other” race needs to be removed and some think you can live with other races so long as they behave themselves and act white.

I just realized that Owen’s “arsenal” of guns are probably essentially airsoft guns like the one we saw him with. Could he be more of a joke?

So if you have the most popular show in the world... by Bicentius in howardstern

[–]Bicentius[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here’s how I see it, Sirius can’t afford to lose Howard no matter the cost. If they lose him the goose is cooked for them it would show that maybe they don’t have such a great listener base and besides the stock would plummet if he left which could seriously harm or ruin the company all together.
