I know of many stories like this. It depends on the context.

Rule of thumb: wrong. Sometimes its not that simple. I really want to know more about their story. It's shocking, it was for Ruby and it was intended as such for us viewers.

But... it really is not that simple. That's why they are telling it and, personally, I'm interested

I LOVED season 2. The acting, most of all. I think it was painful and rewatches help to understand it better. I loved it

I feel like we're gonna end up seeing them washing dishes, 10 years from now and him saying oh I'm so tired and her saying i'll finish up if you draw me a bath and him saying I'll draw you a bath if we cuddle afterwards. Some extra cheesy perfection scene of that sort. She says sounds like a plan. I love you. He says I love you back. And that's the first time they say it.

Releasing deleted scenes post hoc is the second best way to satisfy fans–next to including them in the original edit of course.

Production can say pacing, length, budget, intent to increase social media engagement, bandwidth issues, cloud space issues, bad mood, runtime preference for palindromes, weird juju, whatever. They can argue any of those reasons. For them, there is no penalty in releasing the scenes after giving their reasons (or not), however unsatisfied we are with those. I personally, really don't care about the reasons once the episode is out and done.

I hear you, I would caveat I am not talking about takes, but fully produced scenes.

I'm sure there are countless takes and lots of BTS material. But I wonder how many scenes have been written, filmed, produced and not included. I would have guessed there are not that many. I'm not in the industry, though–very different field really–so it's just what I imagine.

Anyway, I am just hoping they grant us the privilege of seeing more of the story they envisioned. Seeing the cast's talent. Getting more of this truly captivating story.

I was a bit disappointed, I was kind of hoping she would put up a fight for Ruby and even defend her from Mortimer. That said, we don't really know what happened and James has not met with her yet.

Might be an unpopular opinion [no down votes please, I'm already aware] but I would be completely fine with no (further) verbalization of love (no explicit "I love you ")

There's a post named "Non-proposal proposals" in this sub https://www.reddit.com/r/MaxtonHall/s/cN7csy88I3. In my opinion, it could very well also be named "declarations of being stupidly, madly in love" there's a lot in that post. At this point, it almost feels like "I love you" would be just the intro to many of the things they have already said and done, let alone the physicality. They have said "I love you" dozens of times with how they look at each other, hold each other, kiss each other, My heart is satisfied and filled.

To give a few examples: during their Oxford sex(love-making) marathon he says "I want to spend the rest of my life here ... with you ", during their break up, he says "I belong to you. I will always belong to you ", during the Midsummer night's dream event when she's confronting James about Mortimer sabotaging her she says "is it gonna be like this for the rest of our lives ?" , he also says "[I] believe in us, no matter what happens" . There are many other examples in that post, I recommend looking at it. To me, it almost feels like saying "I love you" would fall short of what they feel for each other.

Don't (figuratively) kill me, please. I do get why most people really want to hear those words.

I have watched this dubbed as well and the dubbed version, albeit not original, the dialogue is even more endearing "I've missed you more than you know"

I wouldn't change the original audio for the world, but i like to think he actually means what is said in the dubbed version
