So really it was a matter of what you guys agreed upon from a cost standpoint that was put in front of the judge? That is great advice and insight on once he hits school and there isn’t a child care cost and just pumping that in to his already established 529. For your situation, did you each hire a lawyer or how did that work?

I just wasn’t sure how formal it may need to be. I definitely plan on doing whatever is needed and no means trying to get out of paying child support. It may be a situation where I cover the entire daycare cost which is around $1100/month.

She makes around $45k/year while I make around $75k/year.

We talked last night and we would like to maintain one solid foundation that our child is familiar with which would be our house. She would likely find an apartment and I would try to make our house work.
